Mike Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 Do not pay any NEW Soul Source member via the friends and family method on paypal There is a very good chance that if you do you will lose your money!!! We (soul source) can not help you due to the way paypal works Any 'new' member with 0 or low posts selling items and asking you to pay by F&F is highly suspect! Any 'new' member with 0 posts pm-ing you reference posted wants and asking you to pay by F&F is highly suspect! DO NOT PAY - REPORT/FLAG THE PM AND MEMBER ASP!!!!!
Vadnochka Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 I've been looking at some Discogs listings from a European entry with 4 completely different genres - all big ticket items at @ 50% current market prices or better with no listing background and no sale to the UK stipulated - photos are stock items from other full price listings - Unfortunately there are still people out there that can't resist a bargain whether it be item price or avoiding fees and as a few members on here have confessed recently they've been caught out. So whatever the apparent incentive it's not a risk worth taking.
Benji Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 Discogs forum is full of threads about scammers using hacked abandoned accounts. People tend to wise up there. So these crooks are looking for alternatives now, e.g. Soul Source.
Chalky Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 Can new members who wish to sell go through some form of verification? Also maybe restrict them to the forum until they have contributed to the site in some way?
Geeselad Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 It's not just tunes, I see posts warning of scams with collectables all the time.

Chalky Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 If people still pay total strangers via f&f they deserve all they get really
Jnixon Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 Just ask them to send the record first then you’ll pay and leave feedback.
