I shall watch "Astrid et Raphaelle" on my usual source as I haven't entertained CH4 or CH5 for years.

CH5 did the same thing by making a rehash of the marvellous "All Creatures Great and Small" , that remake was a truly awful production.

We regularly drop in on the c4 app for the 'walter' world drama  tv box sets, quite a selection 100+ I think

I just binge watched Swedish thriller The Breakthrough, and enjoyed it very much.

I also watched the first episode of On Call on Prime last night. A cop thriller - looking good.

We’ve watched a lot of the ‘Walter presents’ stuff and I haven’t watched a bad one yet.

We watched the second episode of Patience last night and it didn't change my opinion that the french version is far better. That said i wouldn't want to discourage anyone from watching Patience, you'd have to have watched the french version to see the differences. The vulnerability of Patience/Astrid does not come across and invokes in my opinion less sympathy for the character in the channel 4 version.

  I didn't come back to the thread to comment further on the pros and cons of the two but it seems i have, the reason I posted again as an aside to the actual series on another thread we post about hearing Northern in unusual places, at the end of one episode in series 4 i think it was as the credits were rolling in the background Marion Black Who Knows was playing, the following week there was another more modern tune playing which from memory was I think by a French group , I searched but couldn't find a sound bite anywhere.
