Valleysoul Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 Just started to re watch "Silicon Valley" it's on HBO via one of those 'dodgy' thingymajigs. It's a comedy set around a tech start up company. If you like nerdy tech stuff along with laddish behaviour you'll love it

I thought that it would turn out that way, can see there being 20 series, same formula and no improvement!

I then did a quick search to see what else that Scott Ryan had appeared in and was pleasantly surprised to find that there was a 2005 movie called "The Magician" that was the first outing for the character Ray Shoesmith , written and directed by Scott himself , and even more pleasantly surprised to find it available on YouTube ...

As for Mr Costner's 'epic' western thing "Horizon : An American Saga" , I've tried it twice but I find it's like wading through treacle. Landman has just started up It's another show from that Taylor Sheridan geezer and so its very much similar to Yellowstone and that prison one (the titles gone) This time we are talking Texan oil fields, we both enjoyed the first one here and it's recommended if ya like the guys other stuff Paramount the official source 2 1

New Members Sweetchocolate Posted December 17, 2024 New Members Posted December 17, 2024 Is there a thread for soaps or would anyone be interested in one dedicated purely to one? I’m thinking Eastenders (my personal favourite) Coronation Street, Emmerdale etc.

Mal C Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 We could re appraise Prisoner Cell Block H? Don't worry you can all press the 'PAniC' button if things get too much... ok, proper recent tele, SILO, I know, its a major show, but its very very good... and starting to get very interesting just now...
New Members Sweetchocolate Posted December 17, 2024 New Members Posted December 17, 2024 I vaguely remember the original prisoner cell block H but I watched all of the recent remake Wentworth. Now that I could defo talk about. 1

You may want to check it out as it’s got that cops and robbers element to it. It’s very gritty.

I've been tinkering with the idea of rewatching from the beginning again so your prompt will encourage me to go back to it. I think I've seen that there's a new series on the way. Because of the wait, and the cost, it was free to me via Apple for a while, and to be honest I just havent got round to it. The gap between the end of the series and the final episode was a while wasnt it? I did however pay to watch the project Kevin Costner left to make, Horizon : American Saga, which was ok I thought, but no where as good as Yellowstone. At least there are 2 more chapters to come in that series, so it can redeem it's self. 1

But the wait was worth it for sure , you do realise that the break was after episode 8 but there are another 6 after the return making 14 in all , not just a single hour and a half finale ? I tried watching Costner's other project , a supposed masterpiece according to the hyperbole , but I found it a complete snoozefest to be honest , two attempts and I've yet to make it to the end of Part 1 , beautifully made for sure but oh so slow ... ! 1

Woodbutcher Posted Wednesday at 09:04 Posted Wednesday at 09:04 (edited) Second series of "SAS-Rogue Heroes" starts tonight on BBC1 at 21:00. And the new adaption of the Dumas classic "The Count of Monte Cristo" starring Sam Claflin is a great watch. Sumptuous costumes , sets and locations have had me glued to the first half-dozen episodes. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt29547746/ Edited Wednesday at 09:07 by Woodbutcher
Soul-slider Posted Wednesday at 10:09 Posted Wednesday at 10:09 Just finished 'Black Doves'. It was OK, full of action but a bit daft at times (ie: never any cops about even though the London streets were awash with shootings!). This is not a spoiler...I felt sorry for the little girl (Kiera Knightly's daughter) in the last episode, she got a Spurs shirt for Christmas (...and I'm a Spurs fan ). 1

Popular Post Daved Posted Thursday at 09:36 Popular Post Posted Thursday at 09:36 I enjoyed Black Doves a lot. Also, Archie, about Cary Grant was very good. I had no idea about his rough childhood. As was the BBC three part documentary about Elizabeth Taylor recently. 4
Woodbutcher Posted Thursday at 10:00 Posted Thursday at 10:00 A genuine "must watch" has just premiered , if you are of an age to remember the events of December 1988 then this is to be seen , a warning regarding the traumatic content is well placed but it's a series that sets the bar extremely high and is a breath of fresh air amongst the usual tripe offered up on TV these days. "Lockerbie : A Search for Truth" 2
