If you are thinking of bidding for these or any other 45's off this seller, then I'd just like to give you a friendly warning...

I puchased a record from RED TOP a while ago that was graded by him as vg+ However, I felt after playing the record that it was more like G, and was of no value to me as the musical experiance was ruined by all the clicking and popping. I sent the record back explaining my opinion, and asking for my money back. I recieved a load of abuse back, telling me how he was a top record dealer and that, how dare I say that his grading was incorrect. And that as far as he was concerned I either had the record back, but had to pay for the postage again, or nothing. I told him I would name and shame him on here, but he just laughed and said he didn't give a s**t what I did.

So there you have it. If you are happy to pay massive amounts of money for very rough looking 45's, from a seller who is never going to refund you if you aren't happy with them, then you can't say you weren't warned.

Best, Phil.

Blimey Phil, if your record you got from him was graded as a vg+ & this E.Eady is fair imagine what this one sounds like being another 3 grades lower, fair, vg-, vg, vg+. sounds like it's a fifty quid touch, not a grand+ !

I know some people are very easilly satisfied, and for some reason will accept any old rubbish, as long as it's original. But when the seller won't do refunds, he should supply an mp3 of the actual 45. He's not a nice guy, and ALL his stuff is in crappy condition. I will never buy off him again. no.gif

I bought from this seller once. It was irma and the fascinators on scepter. Graded VG++. I got the record. Visually it was okay, but it was unplayable, as the styrene was totally shot and the noise overpowered the music. I was pissed and called him on the phone. I sent it back for a full refund and I think he refunded shipping too. It was more annoying at that time because he didn't take paypal and I had to go through getting a money order to pay him initially (I got a check back as a refund). He wasn't rude to me, though. Either way, his reserves on stuff are ridiculous, especially given the condition.

Would I be correct in thinking you are living in the States Boba?

I think because I was a thousand miles away, he felt confident that he would never run into me personally. Hence the attitude problem.

I always give a money back guarantee on all my sales, it's the only way to do business. And I find most of the American dealers are very good and honest people. The thing is, if you are happy with your purchase, you leave glowing feedback. And Mr. red-top has plenty of it. The problems only start when you are not happy with your purchase. Then he becomes Mr. Hyde. And the leaving bad feedback idea doesn't work because they just leave it for you. And there goes your 100% rating. boxing.gif

I still say he's not a nice guy.

Hi Phil. I'm in Chicago. I'm not disagreeing with you, I was trying to give more evidence supporting your case. I think part of the reason he was quick to refund and not rude to me was that I called him up right away and was clearly pissed -- i.e., it wasn't some anonymous internet transaction at that point (I guess it could also be that I'm in the US). I believe your story. I also never leave negative feedback as it messes up my feedback -- it's usually pretty clear what the real story is from the few negatives people have already (although I have dealt with a few horrible graders that had 100% feedback). Thanks.

phil, the whole negative feedback thing - as in, you can't leave any cos you get it left, unjustifiably, in return - pissed me off for ages. i had several instances where i had less-than-perfect experiences and while i always managed to sort them out to my satisfaction the vendor got right on my tits and still deserved a negative.

so in the end i set up a second ebay account in my wife's name and now if someone pisses me off and treats me badly i bide my time for a few days, buy something else off them with her account and then leave a negative for that. you can't do it forever, obviously, as your own negatives mount up on the second account and then you can't buy anything. (though i guess you can then just open a new one on with someone else.)

it doesn't do much as regards rectifying problems but it lowers your blood pressure knowing they're getting steamed up over their feedback, and i think it teaches one or two a lesson

That won't work. The feedback system favors the seller. If the seller files a non-payment notice on the item, the feedback is removed. Unless you intend to actually pay for the fake item you bid on, your feedback will be quickly removed.

er... i do pay for it, obviously, so it does work wacko.gif

clearly, you buy cheap things and you give the b*stard negative feedback even if it arrives in pristine nick.

it's very, very satisfying.

if you want to give negative f/back & not get it in return, wait 90 days then put it on, after 90 days f/ back cant be left

people always say this but this isn't true either, if you read the ebay policy it's "about" 90 days, they're unintentionally vague about it because they want to prevent feedback sniping. I think they even extend the time to respond to feedback once you get feedback on an item. Do a web search for feedback sniping, they're a lot of discussions about this. If the seller is flaky and takes a while to respond in general, it might work, but there's no like small window you can leave feedback that will not leave time to respond.

I guess if you're willing to pay money for the negative it would work, I didn't realize you were actually doing that. You're a very vengeful person! :)

i'm not really. but if i've been stiffed in a deal, and abused in the process, and ebay gives me no sensible recourse, i think it's right to find a way of a ) letting people know what the seller is like and b ) f*cking with the d*ckhead a little.

Strange  .... just noticed the Ernestine Eady was "won" 7 secs before end and the "winner" is now "no longer registered with ebay....

Somebody been naughty :wicked: ....

that is a real German buyer, they bought from me when I had stuff on ebay, I doubt there was collusion with the seller, at least with that specific bidder.
