Belza Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 Can anyone please confirm is the mix of Alfie Davison Love Is A Serious Business on Minerva (OSC165) different to the original mix? My ears don't hear it the same as the original but I cannot find any reference to it ever having been re-recorded. If there is a difference does anyone know if the version on Boot Records with Sam Davis' You Can Count On Me on the other side is the same mix as this one or if it is the original version.
Soulman Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 Is the Minerva release a boot (I'm guessing so) as I've not seen one. I have a Mercury 45 demo, Mercury issue and a couple of the Mercury 12's, also the 12" of the thing that came out on a kinda beige label which was the 7" mix (can't remember the label name) and also the 7" boot that came from the Leicester are (no names mentioned) in the early eighties?????? Minerva though.... dunno

Sjclement Posted January 6, 2023 Posted January 6, 2023 Minerva is not a re-recording of the 7" its just that the strings are a little lower in the mix making the bass stand out , this is also true of the Brookside 12"
