Owd Codger Posted December 30, 2022 Posted December 30, 2022 Just listened to an interview with Mike Terry, where he mentions the possibility that he might visit the UK. Did he ever do this?. He sadly died in 2008
Solution Rob Moss Posted December 30, 2022 Solution Posted December 30, 2022 No. Tremendous fear of flying over water.
Owd Codger Posted December 30, 2022 Author Posted December 30, 2022 Thank you Rob. You could probably make a good fist of a " 100% Mike Terry " all dayer. What a shame he didn't get a chance to come over here.
Rob Moss Posted December 30, 2022 Posted December 30, 2022 I tried on many occasions to no avail. I was hoping to get him to do a Q and A tour. Pie in the sky I suppose !!
Owd Codger Posted December 30, 2022 Author Posted December 30, 2022 (edited) He seemed a modest guy but with a few tales to tell. He was asked about Mikki Farrow records....apparently he was married to her, which he didn't mention. I need to check Jack Ashford's book, but I seem to recall there may have been problems with Pied Piper and his connection with Ashford. His interview answer seemed to suggest that was the case..something like " I got out of that !!.." But what a legacy of Soul music. Edited December 31, 2022 by Owd Codger
Owd Codger Posted December 31, 2022 Author Posted December 31, 2022 (edited) Chalky, that's the one ...Thank You I was looking through some of your podcasts.....couldn't remember where the Mike Terry appeared. Considering the length of his Music career, Variety, and Quality of his Contribution s as a musician, Song writer and Arranger, does he perhaps have a claim to be the GOAT of "Northern Soul," music.? Thank you. Edited December 31, 2022 by Owd Codger 2
