Guest Posted December 4, 2022 Posted December 4, 2022 I really enjoy a good Christmas cut and have bought many over the years to dust off about now and bring some cheer. There must be loads I've never heard as so many fine records never made it to the radio. Here's two with which to kick off.

Kesalocasoul Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 Here is a link to "Dr" Otis Williams of the Temptations, speaking on BBC Radio Four's Sunday programme about their 1980 version of Silent Night (36.42 minutes into the programme). https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m001fvn8
Guest Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 (edited) Kesalocasoul - Here it is. The harmonies are well heavenly. Edited December 6, 2022 by Dukeofburgundy
Chas Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 Nice big production with a great alternative slant.
Kesalocasoul Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 Sublime. Must be the BBC's season for Motown as the label came up on last night's Only Connect (Supremes 4/5 albums in 1965) and University Challenge (tracks on which James Jamerson played bass). Too easy for anyone on here, but the students did well.
Catsprint Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 Cold Winter In The Ghetto; Lonnie Hill At Christmas Time; Randy Brown 1
Kesalocasoul Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 This Christmas - Donny Hathaway. And a Merry Black Christmas by the late, great Roy C (but not one of his best) from his Stella Lost Her Groove Again album. 1
Kesalocasoul Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 More typical of the great man, Christmas Without A Tree from his Slippin and Slidin album
Mike Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 'Kelly Finnigan's 'A Joyful Sound' is a modern holiday classic you need in your collection' 1
