Can anyone help with confirming if this is a boot or not?

I think it's the real deal as the run out groove only has a couple of turns and isn't too big and it has the scratches in matrix MM 1023-1. Cheers :huh:

Hi Adam

This one has been mentioned a couple of times before.

Hi

This Has Been Discussed Recently

I have repeated the Information from me plus the Link to the other Thread which Includes more Information from other members of Soul Source.

>>> Link <<< September 2006

>>> Link <<< August 2006

Check the Deadwax on either DEMO or Stock Copy - I have scanned my copies both are Identical in the Deadwax.

Modern_45xM_1023_DJ.jpgModern_45xM_1023.jpg

The deadwax on both DEMO & Issue ONLY about 7mm - On original copies

Matrix scratched in "MM-1023-1" ( The matrix is small, about 2mm tall and situated between run off groove and playing area -

as soon as it was possible to fit it in - almost touching groove above and below it)

Run off groove in the deadwax spirals to centre quite quickly within one turn of disc - 270 degees

I hope that this helps

Well, I was going to sell it but I just can't work out if it's a boot or not. Looking at all the info I'm still not sure although am leaning towards it being a boot...if you want to buy it then PM me, sure we can work something out :shades:

7mm run out, but no blacking out of promo info. Always thought it was a boot, but it does compare well with a Danny Monday promo with regard to vinyl and paper of label etc.

I can't find the previos topic on this but a lot of people said they had never seen a legit demo without the promo markings crossed out, so now that it has finnished here is one which looks legit anyway:

https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...p;rd=1&rd=1

And I still am not 100% on my copy :thumbsup:

(Mods please feel free to merge the topics)

Hi

So difficult to tell from the pics, however do I hope it's a real one considering the price it fetched.

Plus it would be good to know that there are some about, without the Felt Pen. :yes:

I wouldn't take the lack of the blacking out to make it a certain original. A well known prolific booter of the 70's, pressing up in the US at the time, often just left the boots over there when poeple over here didn't come up with the money for some or all of them. Some of these will have come out of the woodwork recently and found their way to ebay etc as originals, I'm sure.

Hi Simon

Thanks, I'm sure that you're right,

I just don't like to think someones paid this kind of money for a dud,

but as you say there will be boots over there. shades.gif

Right, here's a scan of my copy. It looks like someone has covered the blacked out promo markings with tippex ( ohmy.gif ) cos the other side is only blacked out.

There are only two run out grooves in the dead wax, the dead wax is 7mm at its thinnest point and 9 mm at its thickest, also there is MM 1023-1 scratched in the dead wax between the play area and just after the point where the two run out grooves meet.

Please tell me its an original.
