Steve Steve, Think the prices are coz they all "demo version" that look like issues??? now they must be dog rare!! steve
Gene-r Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 These prices are a bit "cloud cuckoo" aren't they? How 'karrong' can you get!
Val (Chunky) Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 the label of the Connie Clark may explain something
Paul Dunn Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 And its a boot, here is an original https://www.soul-source.co.uk/index.p...st&id=21776 Regards Paul
Pete S Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 I emailed the seller: Dear Seller I see you have a price of £250 on this item, did you actually mean to put £2.50? to which I received this reply karrong2007 (0) Positive feedback: 0% Member since: 04-Feb-07 Location: Lancashire,United Kingdom Registered on: www.ebay.co.uk ------------------------------------------------------- i meant 250.00 not 2.50 thanks karron
Pete S Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 When I told him it was a boot he said i had that record from being 14yrs old cant see it bought it from a shop its not a boot someone please tell him, just because it'll wind him up no end
pikeys dog Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 When I told him it was a boot he said i had that record from being 14yrs old cant see it bought it from a shop its not a boot someone please tell him, just because it'll wind him up no end Just sent him this: The Gerri Thomas is a boot of little value, as is the Connie Clark. The others are all UK 70s issues/re-issues and are worth a tenner each at most. I'd drop the prices, just so you can lower your listing fees, because your not gonna sell a single one of them.

Guest Keep the Boy Happy Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 This must be someone having a laugh I asked him "Are you Joking? It's a boot" regarding the Connie Clark He replied "you are talking out of term i do not sell bootlegs! look in manchips book for the proper numbers the yellow and black one is a boot and this one is a proper one! all the records i sell are proper issues and demos and i do not collect boots! i have been collecting records for 27 years and i know what a boot is and what one is and i would not have a boot in my collection thanks!!!!! He's obviously a Treacle Miner from Sabden (sorry you need to be from my neck of the woods to appreciate this)
givemesoul Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 What's notheren soul ,as, listed in his genre .I asked a question & told him not to be so stupid,as they're all boots or uk re- issue's & list them at £4.99 start & he might get some bids, otherwise incur high ebay listing fees, awaiting response

Guest mel brat Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Looking at his other prices for UK records, I think he cannot be the full bag of shopping. After initially having a good laugh, I felt a bit guilty and sorry for the chap actually, and sent him an e-mail very gently pointing out that his records were bootlegs and re-issues and that he'd be unlikely to get what he was asking for them. Got the following reply today; Response from karrong2007 karrong2007( 0) Positive feedback: 0% Member since: 04-Feb-07 Location: Lancashire, United Kingdom Registered on: www.ebay.co.uk Item: gerri thomas-look what i got (180088100774) This message was sent while the listing was active. karrong2007 is the seller. id be willing 2 drop my price a bit depends how much by Staggering...

Maybe he's more of a "recluse" than I am! Perhaps he's been living in a hole in the ground for the last 27 years! (If ever he sells one of 'em for those prices though, the s*** will REALLY hit the fan!) Edited March 1, 2007 by mel brat

Malc Burton I have checked this chap's sales again this morning , and it is interesting that he has dropped the starting bids on all but one of them , that being on the alleged UK demo of " Move On Up " by Curtis Mayfield , which still stands at £ 250 . Nice to see by his doing so , that he has acknowledged dropping a testicle larger than King Kong's ..... Pete S Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Erm, this is a bit tricky, I just had a phone call from someone who's know this girl for 30 odd years and he told me that all is not quite right with her mental state, and he was being serious, and he also asked if it would be possible to kind of not email here about her auctions, he says she's obviously not going to sell anything so won't be ripping anyone off anyway - and he was being serious so that's the message I was asked to pass on anyway.

Hmm, pretty sad news that. For her own sake, he (as a friend) should try and stop her doing this - what happens if a couple of jokers put 5-figure bids on one of her auctions, just for the spiteful fun of it, not realising the true story behind it all?

Ebay is swamped with bootlegs and cheap Northern related trash, so when obvious bootlegs and reissues are offered at ridiculously high prices as happened here, it's bound to cause comment and speculation as to the person's real motives. It's all very well being "angry", but we can hardly be held responsible as we had no idea of the real circumstances behind this, if in fact what he says is true. I'm sure none of us meant any harm at all, and were only offering well meant (if somewhat bemused) advice.
