Guest Dan Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 what a great record fortson and scott is. one i would never let go. sounds to me like recorded live in one take, there's a bit where the drummer seems to lose it and get it back again. absolutely stormer. does it get played much? does anyone know much about the two lads?

Robby Fortson had a decent solo single on Pzazz. That's all I know.

That's all I know. yes i have that pete. i either know (in the back of my mind) or assume that they were backing singers/session musicians and sweet lover does have that feel, of two blokes given a bit of studio time to have a go. it's very exuberant. they wrote a few other things but seem to have disappeared. any len jewell experts able to shed light?
Steve G Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 Robby Fortson had a decent solo single on Pzazz. That's all I know. Agree "Are you for real" is the side - just dug it out. Also they did another duet on Pzazz "Just a little step" which is pleasant without being outstanding.

A Bobby Fortson sang lead on The Mandarins, Commerce 45 "Better Watch Out Girl", the other side (A side?) being "That Other Guy" which featured Jimmy Hayes...whether this is the same guy I don't know....I've always assumed it was....anyone know anything of The Mandarins?....line-up....LA connections? Marc Forrest Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 does anyone know much about the two lads? I seem to remember they were from NOLA and moved to California as so many other artists (on Pzazz) as well. Most of them were somehow related withthe AFO group of labels and the whole Dover group after their demise. Marc
