Apologies if this has been raised before, but does anybody know if Robert Walker (The Blizzard/ Stick to me) RCA was the Motown Robert Walker ( Staunton & Walker) ?

You'll see the Motown guy was Robert Simon Walker .. and the RCA guy was Robert G Walker .. it's not that unusual to see BMI merge, and therefore confuse, two different songwriters with very similar names

The Staunton - Walker team ( with Jones and Dobyne)  seem to disappear after Motown (65 ish)....unless somebody knows anything of their career after Motown. I know Robert Dobyne had later 45s

Last contact details I had for Staunton he was living in L.A. .. but never managed to 'catch' him

I read a post on youtube linked to a Robert Walker track...The Blizzard I think.

The poster claimed to be the composer on the track, and talks of travelling from Detroit to New York, recording the track with musicians "live"....and not done the Motown way .....ie multi tracked . So the Detroit connection may refer to the same Robert Walker.

I'll try to find it again.

The guy is called Flery Robertson and he states he was asked to play piano for the S-W team.

He says Staunton went to LA...and he worked with Walker. So the RCA Walker does indeed appear to be Motown's S-W.

There is a (https://www.discogs.com/artist/3810236-Fiery-Bursey) also written as Flery Bursey- AND- the other writer on stick with me is Walter Fields (https://www.discogs.com/artist/1016441-Walter-Fields).

Both have Motown connections.
