What was the catch with Deena Johnson (Simpson 102) to reach £175 ?

I'd also like some more info, condition etc than just an artists list and price.

I may have misunderstood you… if so sorry. Tim always describes his auction items really well and you can make a bid if you wish. You can’t expect him to repeat that once the items are sold. Surely the buy price and artist is all that’s needed.

It was a black issue. Most seem to be white demo's. Strangely enough, I bought a white demo on ebay 10 days ago for £36.

OK so a 'high kick' bid not even for a 'rare' sound nor a prized label black or white. Popsike history show a "madness" for the tune or the record at one time around 2015. Likely bids from deep pockets not in the known of records. But all good for Tim's business though.

If the white promos that came out about as NOS copies years ago kind of flodded the market with white demos making the black stockers seemingly rare, it's not rare IME. Nor exciting here. Just an okay tune IMO FWIW but nothing never rare nor in demand by the jocks.

Too fast to dance to and deffo a soul pack 77 sound.

Still...never seen an issue.

Ed

Got my black copy as a teen. Cheap usa trip find. Catchy once bought. Bored me on second play. Went to a mod friend I believe. Have had stockers and promos after.

A fair sixties 'club' sound in my book for a cheap tag (before) for example. To what I always destined the record when for sale for about £12 to £20 up to early 2000...

FWIW I always favored the more "mature" Joshie Jo Armstead I got to realise. It's not always the case but with her I am yet to hear her pre 1968 record that does it for me.
