Davebanks
So at what temperature do we think our precious vinyl records would warp? Obviously you don't want to leave the rarest record in the world on a chip shop counter that would be stupid !!!!!! But seriously do we need to watch were we store our records now that 40C temperatures, in the shade, hit UK? Dave Banks Link to comment Social source share
Popular Post Amsterdam Russ
Interesting article about this: https://peakvinyl.com/warping-temperature/ Quote A typical vinyl record can start warping due to heat at a temperature of 140°F (60°C) and can melt at temperatures exceeding 212°F (100°C). 4 1 Link to comment Social source share

Mike Shawe
A couple of years ago I was playing on a hot roof terrace with no sun protection, I watched as my copy of Pamoja literally began to warp in front of my eyes as it played, the stylus riding the ‘waves’ of the warp as I scrambled to find some cover. Thankfully the record flattened-out as I found shade which I was amazed at. Take care out there! Edited July 18, 2022 by Mike Shawe Link to comment Social source share
