Mal C Posted July 7, 2022 Posted July 7, 2022 Found this online, small cutting from 'Jackie' Magazine, dont know the year but I guess 64/65? anyhow its quite interesting, I never knew Reg was from Paddington, The Action were always billed as being from Kentish Town, I guess thats were they lived when they were coming up, anyhow this is a cool cutting Ive never seen on a great singer who started singing in Germany at American U.S.A.F bases... who knew that... mal 1
Autumnstoned Posted July 8, 2022 Posted July 8, 2022 (edited) I’d guess he was born in St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington. It’s where my granddaughter was born. At the time my daughter and son in law were living in Queens Park, NW6 and St Mary’s was the nearest maternity hospital. Just musings really and I could be completely wide of the mark . The Action were a good band. I first came across them when I heard “Baby You’ve Got It” on the My Generation compilation which EMI put out in about 1976. I always kick myself for not buying that 45 when I found it on a market stall - £7.00 I seem to remember. This was about 25 yrs ago. I didn’t have the cash on me at the time and didn’t bother finding a cash machine as I had my two Kids with me. Of course, when I went back the next week, the seller’s stall had gone! Mal C Posted July 8, 2022 Author Posted July 8, 2022 I guess he would have been born there. I used to live there 'St Marys' in Nurses accomodation, so now the hospital has another great name along side Alexander Fleming that said I bet Fleming couldnt sing for toffee.... ! lol Mal 1
