Chappells – You’re acting kind of strange – Bedford 108 M- £300 HOLD

Hesitations – I’m not built that way / Soul superman – Kapp 790 WD Ex+ £225

(Wow, when it comes to double siders, this is right up there, top class 60s group, hint of light cue burn on ‘built’ intro, couple of seconds that’s all, ‘superman’ is clean)

IMG_E2221.thumb.JPG.4e4c82ae7c8302f7a673e8d65dc01bca.JPG

Broken Hearts Inc. – Please don’t walk away / Heartache (is all you get) – Kimberlite 002 NM £180

Soul Shakers – I’m getting weaker – Loma 2047 Ex- 175

Dean Courtney – I’ll always need you – RCA 9049 M- £350 HOLD

(Rare black stock copy of this anthem dancer, from the Hollywood pressing plant)

Laura Greene – Moonlight music in you – RCA 9164 M- £350 HOLD

(Always been a sought-after RCA, but on rare black stock copy even juicier, slight dish on centre, but it sits evenly, looks and plays beautifully)

IMG_E2725.thumb.JPG.98d0a2ef44bdb2c938d2f60215d2bac3.JPG

Michael & Raymond – Man without a woman – RCA 9244 WD Ex+ £130

(Wow, they did knock out a huge amount of music destined for Northern exposure)

IMG_E2227.thumb.JPG.403223f9b13805875387a4d1ec462c1a.JPG

Lorraine Chandler – I can’t change – RCA 9345 WD Ex £250 HOLD

(Loz at her best, none of her tracks should be overlooked, flip label is off white)

IMG_E2230.thumb.JPG.fa810c7766a7b23e3346132f1c2bd874.JPG

Hal Frazier – After closing time – Reprise 0570 WD NM £170 HOLD

(I first heard this on a snippet tape way back, took me months to identify and garb my first copy, still sounds as good today as its ever done. Condition, condition, condition)

IMG_E2785.thumb.JPG.b2609f53e362a64d0a7973f5e131e662.JPG

Fellows – She’s always there / Let’s make it last – Solid Hit 110 Ex £225 HOLD

(Superb Detroit double sider, one side true to the motor city upbeat soul, the other a gritty Volumes on Karen-esque, on a label design to die for)

IMG_E2675.thumb.JPG.445c0696773e759ba109f0160364c572.JPG

Gino Parks – Fire – Tamla 54066 WD Ex £350

(Powerhouse vocals and intensity on this early Motown number on the Tamla imprint, hard on demo, couple of light pops at run off. Such a hard Hitsville release to find in higher end condition, and one that will be missing from many Motown collections, small DJ stamp on flip)

IMG_E2679.thumb.JPG.1643eef34f95685618fd596b210a1273.JPG

Marsha Gee – Baby I need you – Uptown 704 Ex £180 HOLD

Georgia Soul Twisters – Look out! I’m going to blow your mind – Waxwing 1010 M- £1250

(Group hails from Lyon, Georgia, hence the name, but the tracks were recorded in Florida. It’s always been a bit under the radar, a stunning 70s Northern track which Daren Brown sold recently for £1500 quoting his first ever copy, so still rare and hard to find, bargain and in this condition too)
