Haighy Posted June 27, 2022 Posted June 27, 2022 What’s the going rate for a proper Holly. How many known out there. Cheers.
Billywhizz Posted June 27, 2022 Posted June 27, 2022 I KNOW SOME ONE CAME BACK WITH BOX , FROM USA 90 , IN 70S GOING PRICE 2/3 K ME THINK
Frankie Crocker Posted June 27, 2022 Posted June 27, 2022 Just over a dozen went through eBay in the last 20 years. We’re watching the one on Manship’s auction closely - should top 3K. A seriously rare record, two great sides, truly an auction piece and one that would grace any collection. 1
Tagtag Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 Any idea how much the one on Manship's sold for tonight?

Soulgalore Posted June 29, 2022 Posted June 29, 2022 £2.2K last I saw (with plenty of time for more bids). Not a bad return on your money as was bought in Oct 2020 for $998 (£750ish)

As someone far wiser than me once said, all soul could be northern soul, not all northern soul is soul. When you look at some of the patently pap pop listened to at Wigan (and still revered by some of the older contingent still on the scene today), this looks to be the case. (Btw, I am not opposed to this - love a bit of blue-eyed “soul” myself). Regarding Mr Arnell’s offering, I have always loved the instrumental version. I am sure that the recent purchasers of this record are delighted with their new acquisition and I hope that they enjoy it.

As a recent purchaser of this record, I am absolutely delighted with it and have enjoyed it enormously on the few occasions I’ve played it. It took four decades to track down a decent copy and part with a princely sum for it. In fact, I was offered two copies but regrettably turned down one... 1
