See you have got me started now with this post. Our man Sweet is possibly Floyd Bibbins (credited on the single) I wonder if this is also connected where he "did" the music ? https://catalog.lamama.org/Detail/objects/6727 And these ?

Larsc Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 There was a Floyd Bibbins born in 1936 in Norfolk, virginia. The same city was the birth place of The Grandison Singers who had a pianist by the same name. The Grandison Singers were part of the hard gospel side of the folk scene in the early 60's. They were three women and a man. In 1961 Floyd Bibbins appears as writer for two songs by a male/female group on Beltone called The Swanettes sounding a lot like a gospel group. They were apparently also the backing singers for Bobby Lewis with his big hit on the same label. Then The Swanenettes disappear and The Grandison Singers gain traction. They release a 45 on RCA in 1962 and get published in several magazines and newspapers. At least until about 1964. Then nothing until Floyd Bibbins releases a 45 on Kris ca. 1973. Through the 70's and into the early 80's he appears in different roles on disco 45s. 3
Andybellwood Posted July 16, 2022 Author Posted July 16, 2022 Gave both High Inergy and Sweet Daddy Floyd versions a well received spin at Whitby Weekender . 1
Kenb Posted July 16, 2022 Posted July 16, 2022 Grandisons =Mary & Helen sisters, and their first cousins Dorothy Webster & Floyd Bibbins. When they first started there was 6 of them. 1
