Liquid Spirits, founded in 2005, is a modern soul band of the producers duo Wiboud Burkens (keyboards) and Manuel Hugas (bass). Their idiosyncratic sound is unconventional and experimental and their urge for innovative soul music has been influenced by artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Miles Davis, Anderson Paak, and A Tribe Called Quest. Liquid Spirits released 3 albums. All three from a completely different concept and various collaborations, but still clearly with the 'Liquid Spirits' sound. The five new singles from their new album 'Years', which has been released on December 3rd, 2021, have already been streamed more than 1,500,000 times on Spotify. Burkens and Hugas have both more than earned their spurs in the international soul world. In addition to Liquid Spirits, there were frequent collaborations and tours with Leon Ware (composer Marvin Gaye/Michael Jackson) and rapper Phonté Coleman (Little Brother). They also wrote and produced the song 'Tragic Inevitability' by multiple Grammy winner Lalah Hathaway. During the writing sessions for ‘Years’, a strong synergy arose with the renowned soul singer and lyricist Ivan 'vAn' Peroti. The layered and exciting production of Hugas and Burkens in combination with Peroti's socially engaged lyrics, idiosyncratic singing style, creativity, and fantastic voice lead to a distinctive soul album; authentic and averse to compromise. Ivan 'vAn' Peroti - vocals Manuel Hugas - bass Wiboud Burkens - keys Eric Hoeke – drums All music written by Ivan 'vAn' Peroti, Manuel Hugas, Eric Hoeke & Wiboud Burkens, 2020 Lyrics by Ivan 'vAn' Peroti Produced by Wiboud Burkens & Manuel Hugas, 2021
