Try PMing Leo, member and infrequent poster on here under the name Ljblanken. I met him when he was over here and visiting the 100 Club. He had something going on in the LA area but I'm sure he posted a couple of years ago that he had moved on to the New York scene. Good luck.

if you type  '@' before typing a members name

after typing a few characters it then shows a drop down menu where you can then select the members name

eg

 

once the members name is selected , the name is shows as per below

@Ljblanken

 

Plus once posted the member gets notified that their account has been mentioned and gets sent a link to the post , so hopefully now aware of the post can have a look/reply etc

Also the name now also offers a link direct to the members profile

You could ask Mr Finewine (downtown soulville) if anything is happening.

It could be that any events would be outside of Manhattan eg like Brooklyn.
Not strictly NS but great & friendly in my experience.
