(Typical Columbia label Northern, big voiced, girly backing dancer)

Danelle Darris – Don’t love me an leave me – Commerce 5020 Ex £100 SOLD

(Atmospheric femme beat ballad, lovely tune)

Manchester’s Playboys – I feel so good – Fontana 745 M- £300

(Very rare UK release with Mod tune “I close my eyes” on the flip)

Lawrence & Arabians – I’ll try harder – HEM 1002 M- £50

(Excellent group pounder, collectable label, drill hole, seen at £150!)

P.P. Arnold – Everything’s gonna be alright – Immediate 040 M- £650 SOLD

(Wow, a bomb burst of a tune, so feel good and still refreshing after all these years. Original centre included ;-), condition, condition, condition)

Hesitations – You can’t bypass this love – Kapp 848 WD Ex- £50

(Gotta be one of the most prolific Northern groups, not a bad tune from them. Pied Piper of course. Delightful flip side. Light grub on label, some light marks on disc, but plays great)

Roy Hamilton – She make me wanna dance / You can count on me – MGM 13291 DJ Vg+ £150 SOLD

(One of the richest vocals on the scene, presented in Roys full tonsilarity on 2 very differing sides, one uptempo Latin tinged dancer, the other his stock beat ballad, both brilliant, double bubble. Surface has several superficial marks, but it plays Ex)

(Nice gruff vocals on this LA group dancer)

Styles – Baby you’re alive – Modern 1048 WD Ex+ £50

(Nice just over mid-tempo male group dancer)

Darrell Banks – Our love is in the pocket / Open the door to your heart – Quality 1835 Ex £60

(Fantastic double sider. ‘Open’ side has 3 superficial blemishes on the vinyl that do not affect play in any way, sticker residue and penciled initial on label)

Al Jarreau – Shake up / Boom boom – Raynard 10024 M- £750

(Rare and sparkling upbeat Wisconsin dancer, strikes a party vibe, tidy flip too, plumb condition)

Trade Martin – Work song – RCA 8926 Ex £100

(Upbeat and catchy Sam Cooke “chain gang” esque tune on nice black stock. Minor edge lift, tiny bubble on vinyl, cause 3-4 light pops)

Jimmy Armstrong – Mystery – Shrine 102 M- £375

(Wow, near mint surface, crisp blue top label, minor ring wear on flip)

Invitations – Look on the good side – Silver Blue 818 Ex £40 SOLD

(Mid-tempo dancer from 74, the groups earlier stuff included DynoVoice release, and Lew Kirton leads on this I believe. Nice stock copy)

Tempests – Out of my life – Smash 2194 Ex+ dh £40 SOLD

(Delectable, lifts you up and makes your day better)

Willie Hobbs – Til I get it right – Sound Stage Seven 1510 WD M- £40

(Another mid 70s crooner, very pleasant)

(One of my all time favourite crossover dancers, bounds along, brilliant. Minor edge lift does not affect play)
