I believe  Brother's Guiding Light is the Dreamlovers with a new name.

So - group members should be Don Hogan, Tommy Ricks, Cleveland Hammock and Cliff and James Dunn.

Good info, but if David morris sung lead on the Mercury 45 and if soul harmony singles info is correct regarding Doug Banks being on the Mercury 45 then only three of the Dreamlovers could possibly be in the group as there are only five in the picture. Just because the Dreamlovers reformed in 1980 does not mean they all sang on the Mercury 45.

You are correct as all the write ups have suggested more members than in the photo, which is David Morris and four others which does not add up anyway (it would be Dave Morris and 5 others if you add Don Hogan, Tommy Ricks, Cleveland Hammock and Cliff and James Dunn.) Unless someone missed the photoshoot.

If Doug Banks was one of them then 2 are missing

I assume that all the others copied the info and perhaps Dave Moore can give his opinion

Yes, perhaps Dave Moore does have a definitive answer to this one. Vince Montana would have been an obvious go to, but sadly no longer with us. As for contacting any of the possible members i'm sure someone on here has some info if hopefully those artists are still with us. Recordshack reissued  some David Morris material, think his name is Jorg, he may know.

Vince Montana gave me this acetate when I visited him in Philly ... the annotation 'Me and Bud' means Vince M & Bud Ross

Did you see the notes above, about the line up Dave please ?

Yes but not really much to add. The Dreamlovers were mentored by Buddy Caldwell and then Jerry Ross and released quite a few 45s in the 60s on lots of labels and I'm sure you;e aware. Their history is documented in my book. Their transition to Brother's Guiding Light and the inclusion of David Morris for the Getting Together 45 is also well documented. The inclusion of Doug Banks is something that I was never able to fully establish during my research.

I didn't realise at the time I did the book what his contribution was to the story of Sigma. Kinda feel there's a piece missing now!

Contacting Roger Meltzer could yield some additional info, as he did writing and production with several Philly acts, Mcfadden & Whitehead, Archie Bell, Thompson Bros, Garfield Flemming etc, but more importantly David Morris. I'm sure Dave would have tried to check him in doing the book,or perhaps Andy Rix.
