I had a stock copy of Vivian Carol (sadly sold five or six years ago in a moment of weakness). The colour of the one above (which looks like a Verve blue on my screen) is way off, unless there were two stock versions - mine was a darker blue with a sort of greenish tinge in there.

probably just the camera light or something. think there was only one small run of the stock copy.. i only ever had one copy in my hands.. never saw another

Probably Dave. Definitely not enough produced to have warranted multiple pressings with natural variation in ink etc.

Here's a poor scan (from popsike) of the Polydor issue of Tammi Lynn I'm gonna run away from you.

UK products ain't my thing (meaning I'm no specialist) but it clearly doesn't look British. Irish it could be.

I'm not sure now if we've mentioned this copy before .... should also be a stock copy, or not.

And in the same breath:

Doesn't this label variation also exist from
"Jimmy Ricks - Oh! What A Feelin"?

Without looking it up now, but I think JM has it listed in his Price Guide.

I can't locate a reference on the internet, but the person who has it - please post.

Thanks

Yes, I have it David, as per the scan above and it is Irish, released over there when the Mojo hit copy came out in England. Many years ago folk used to mistake it for British, but it is most certainly Irish, as you said 👍

Be nice if you can put up a better scan for posterity

Here's a scan of Tami Lynn / Irish Polydor with the UK Mojo list number.

tamilynnIGRAFYIre.thumb.jpg.75b1c33301a3b8b9387cd3f31287155c.jpg

It happened a lot in Ireland in the mid sixties through to the mid seventies.

I have a few EMI Invictus on Irish Columbia, A Silvertop London of Al Green "Let's Stay Together" Parlaphone releases of UK Apple, Act 1 on Black Mercury, Moments on Irish Philips, Rosco Robinson on Scepter, most of these using original UK list numbers and stampers.

I don't know why the labels were old style, it's as if the UK companies never told their Irish counterparts that the new subsidiary labels had launched.

I love 'em.

Interesting thread opened by Mr. Thorley in 2010
(I actually have to look at it again in a quiet minute).
Wouldn't there perhaps a thread or exchange of opinions after the rarest stock copy fit?
If it does not make sense, the admin may like to close this case here ... but I think I would like!

Of course, the whites are already something special, but it also goes the other way around - you know it too.

Gladly also English pressings - that is absolutely not my area - (Darrell Banks?)

Gladly a versatile exchange desired - Stay healthy

*Oh I see - I have not secured now, whether there was this question already - Mea Culpa? +reactivated+

I simply begin ⬇️

Hello all,

maybe there is some momentum coming in here again, I think this topic has not been fully exhausted yet, although there has been an incredible amount of new info that was unknown to me and maybe to one or the other out there.

Attached are two more very rare stock copies:

I think this Thunderbird pressing very interesting - precisely because you don't always come across it.
Its very likely in a division with E.Rodney Jones (Charisma) and Sherri Taylor (PG):
No one can say here exactly what you are at these exactly ... but that's what's so exciting about it.
Is it a Reissue, a Boot or a Counterfeit ... nobody knows. 😉

Well, I totally disagree. Call it diversity if you want.

I think so. It doesn't matter if it's a 1st or 2nd copy, or reissue or boot ... Or or or, everyone has their own interpretation here anyway.

Nevertheless, it's an extremely rare stock copy - that's what this thread is mainly about.

Care to post a picture of it maybe ? 🙃

I knew this would happen, I have no idea how to do that but I'll try ! I,m a technophobe and quite happy to remain so. Doing this 'quote' thing already got me flummoxed. I'll give it a go .
