Sad to report the passing of another Wolverhampton soul boy, Eddie Szwarc or as he was better known Swoz.

He had been a friend of my wife since she was in her teens, and of mine for the past 25 years, we were both in shock to learn of his sudden passing.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time

RIP Swoz

Some sad news. Eddie Szwarc, better known as Swoz passed away earlier today in New Cross Hospital.

Well known in the Wolverhampton area, he was a keen collector with a passion for the music that went back to the late 60s. He was particularly proud of the role the Catacombs played in the scene's development, having been one of the club's original members.

RIP.

Proud to say that I knew Swoz for more years than I care to remember & spent many hours with him in Max's shop. His passing will take a long time to sink in  R.I.P. mate  Alan C

That's such sad news. Although quite a few years older than me, I was introduced to Swoz at the Casino about 1980 by my best mate Mark Mahony (Mona), who was also big mates with another Wolverhampton legend Gethro. The last time I seen Swoz and had a chat to him would be around 6yrs ago at a Twisted Wheel Sunday Afternoon session. A lovely bloke Swoz, who always had time for everyone, and, always shared his knowledge of vinyl whenever asked. RIP Swoz, Knocker
