Drove past the Wilton today in Castleford and saw the demolition taking place. I only went once or twice but I,m sure it holds some fantastic memories for some on here.

Great people and great venue. From the early days at the Carlton club(every Friday) to the Wilton for the allnighter. Travelled to the Carlton club and Wilton regularly with Neil Toplis and John Phill

What a shame my friends and me had  many years of pleasure at this niter i think 2nd only to the 100 club in years of  long standing , Got to play records on occasion along with other collectors along side the big name djs at the time  It was perfect for us location, and music policy and allways a friendly crowd,

Iconic upfront Yorkshire venue, spent many hours there, so sad.

Probably for us the best niter from a long list we've attended over many years. Was so special, the people, the music played from the dj's be they A listers or collectors.

Many friendship'smade and stood the test of time. Very special for sure .

Great Friday night nighters.  Never knew what to  expect when you walked through the doors.  Lasting memory for me was when Roger and Jenny celebrated the wedding there,  Brilliant .

Got a few of the famous anniversary lapel pin badges.

I had some great nights at the Wilton. I spent many hours on the dance floor. The music policy was excellent.

60's discoveries/collectors sounds and lesser played classics. A lot of good sales boxes as well.

Always remembered scheduled to follow Tim Brown on the decks there - trepidation at what he would play and have to follow - He kicked off with Ray Agee - one off the list to play - turned out to be the only one he played that I'd got so had a free run from my box and could breathe a sigh of relief. Great night and still remember the gang that had travelled from Manchester only to arrive too late to catch Tim and I - The actual reason they'd made the trip - I offered them a fag and commiseration.

Great days and towards the end of my travelling any distance to get my fix. OR SO I THOUGHT - NOW ANOTHER 30 YRS ON

always remember doing a main spot there around 99 and doing the biz to a very appreciative and very knowledgeable crowd . had all the main players in .a great night indeed ,and happy memories.

Loved the place, one of the best venues.  So many great nights and times with some great mates there.  Sad that society has no room for such a great venue.

Echo as to what everyone is saying, great venue, great music, great people = great atmosphere.

Some class nights with some people sadly no longer with us.

Bit wistful reading this, some great nights back in the 90's

Top tunes from a real mix of DJ's, great sound system and dancefloor, cool and knowledgeable crowd, etc. Struck a nice balance between connoisseurs vibe and dancefloor friendly - definitely one of my favourite niters of times past. No idea how I got home in one piece Sat mornings driving back to Nottingham though, always a total shambles 😁

Loved the place, right up there with the best venues ever imho. You could always come back with a long list of wants every time you went . It was ran by proper soul people who cared and gave collectors there dues also .
How many venues can you say that about now?
Back in the day everyone wanted to play there, it was a hard dance floor to master but that summed it up for me, people would talk about the music more than dance at times .
Someone said it gave collectors a chance to DJ with big names NAH it gave DJs the chance to play with Big Collectors, Nuff Said !

along with the 100 club my favorite venue from the 1st allniter in 1993 i think right up to richard caitons appearance 5 years ago.. even dj`d there half a dozen times.. such a sad day

Agree with all the above, I made a few trips up to the Wilton in the mid /late 90's from South Wales, and the place did have a unique aura about it.....Great Times were had indeed......

Great people and great venue. From the early days at the Carlton club(every Friday) to the Wilton for the allnighter. Travelled to the Carlton club and Wilton regularly with Neil Toplis and John Phillips. Hard work from the beginning by Pele and Mouse. Great music and knowledgeable crowd.  Run by collectors and collectors given the chance to DJ. Saw some unbelievable acts there towards the end and this place will always have a big place in my Northern journey. I dont think we will ever see the likes of this venue and crowd again. Sad news

One my favourite alnighters well worth the trip from Gloucester rush home from work pick up ezzie

Mark an sue happy nights

So sad, they want to knock everything down these days, UK and US

I did a couple of spots there, i remember playing Melvin Davis. A'int No News. Ke Ke. and taking it off halfway through saying over the mic ''your'e obviously not ready for this one yet'' (1992) but a great forward thinking venue.
