I used to watch TOTP regularly in the 60s just in case there may be an act on with a Soul or R&B sound and it happened occasionally but not as much as the BBC pretend these days. One Friday I was knocked out with a group I had never heard of before, although they mimed, they tore the place up. It was The Spellbinders - Help Me, HONEST! I rushed out to get the 45 the next day but as was usual in those days, if it wasn't in the top 20 you had to order it and wait for a month or so until the mule train arrived at The Disc Shop. Can anyone else remember this event just in case people think I'm dementing or recall other similar surprises?

Back in the early 70s I saw(I think on TOTP) the Voices Of East Harlem singing Right On To Be Free. All in Black Power T shirts(closet James Coit fans obviously).
