96 Tears - difference between origional and boot.

I have a wants request out at the moment for an origional Big Maybelle 96 Tears on Rojac. My research on the Net suggests that there is a lookalike boot from 2012. Other than maybe condition being an indicator,  can anyone advise on how to spot the difference please? 

Any advice is much appreciated.

Boot has tiles etched in matrix runout on the Demo. Not sure the styrene issue has been booted

According to discogs, the difference here is quickly recognisable. Just go back to a stock copy - it's still virgin.

Both promo discs are very identical; except that the second clip is missing on the 96 side - but this could also be a scan error:

"...(From her ... New Bag

 - but I would guess you can tell the difference by the actual label quality.
The original W/D should have a paper label, but the current boat does not.

Zanetti, are you confirming what Blackpoolsoul thinks in that the boots are demos?  I'm unclear, are you both saying that issues are origional?

If you don't want to go wrong, get the stock copy - it hasn't been booted yet.
I wouldn't risk getting a promo via online unless it's a reputable dealer. I would only be able to tell the difference if I held both promos in my hand.
Buy the stock - stock copies are the holier grails anyway.

I agree mate not the only readily available record I’ve seen booted , infact if you scroll eBay particularly British there are rife !!

Was it this bunch though? They had a big operation and they'd be less likely to get caught if they booted fairly common stuff rather than risk rare stuff that'd get them caught easier?
