For a very long time I've wanted to collate stories about the crazy things one has been involved in, witnessed, or been told about. Situations, events that seem to only happen on the Soul/Northern Soul scene that anyone outside the soul fraternity would find hard to believe could possibly happen. You don't have to give name details, you decide, but be respectful as someones past is better left in the past.

 

Two people I know many years ago, that because finding the caravan at one of the weekenders that you departed from some 8 hours previously on you're way to the venue was not so easy (and in the dark) to locate on you're way back. It's just a sea of trailers, and all looking similar, not an easy task at times.

So, these two friends thought it a good idea to obtain a large amount of sauce packets (like the ones at the fast food outlets) and as they made way to the event left a trail of the contents on the grass, hoping that would guide them back to their abode. Of course it may still be dark and on this attempt it also rained so this crazy idea failed. Like I said, no one would believe this story outside of the Soul people, in fact this is so mad I'm not sure people within the fraternity would think it true, but it is.!

I never get this style of project promotion

 

We do have a fully featured news feature on here, where decent items rack up thousands of page views

all you need to do is knock to up a decent news item , add an image and post it up via here

the news item has a day or two at the top of our front page

the news item has top billing in our news articles feature

the news item gets a highlight topic posted automatically in this very forum

it can get posted on twitter and facebook and whatsapp/telegram groups either by the site or readers or both via the share icon

it gets added to our email newsletter, the one that gets sent to over 6000 members each week

 

There you go, easy as pie and should only take a few minutes

It works better for members, works better for site and works better for soul related projects
