PBS America (The nearest they have to public broadcasting ) are showing a timely 2 part documentary  over 4 hours  from Monday (10:40am or 8.35pm) via Freeview /Virgin /Sky ) which sheds light on the social , political and musical role the church played in Black cultural history. Non less than the career of Aretha Franklin .
