Pete S Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 (edited) Anyone heard of this Chuck carbo - It's You - Rex, New Orleans label. It's kind of popcorn.r&b, just wondered if it was known, worth anything? Not bad but the female backing spoils it for me like it does on a lot of these type of records. Jaco Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 Don't know about this record, Pete, but anybody who records "Meet me with your black drawers on " and "Don't boogie with your black drawers off " has got to be an interesting fellow!!

He's obviously got a thing about black drawers. If he likes very big black drawers he'd love my missus
Guest bleusuperb Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 Had a Chuck Carbo and the Spiders on Imperial, called something like "My Desire", sold it about a year ago for around a tenner. Not very good.
Pete S Posted February 5, 2007 Author Posted February 5, 2007 Hang on, I'll record it and send it up. I make no claims that it's any good, just wanted to know if it was a known record.
Pete S Posted February 5, 2007 Author Posted February 5, 2007 IT'S YOU - chuck carbo - rex 14390 refosoul
Funky Si Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 There's a post on Chuck Carbo on Dan Phillip's "Home Of The Groove" New Orleans-themed blog here.
Girthdevon Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 His Fireball 45 - Can I Be Your Squeeze - is one of my fave funk 45s. And was used as the backing to a fight scene in an episode of the cult UK comedy 'Garth Marenghi's Darkplace'.....

Pete S Posted February 6, 2007 Author Posted February 6, 2007 Thanks for info everyone. I'll stick it on the website for £30.
