Winsford Soul Posted September 1, 2021 Posted September 1, 2021 Funk Brothers. The real sound of Motown. What a tribute
Frankie Crocker Posted September 1, 2021 Posted September 1, 2021 Bang on. Top, top musician. A fitting tribute, long overdue.
Mssoulie Posted September 1, 2021 Posted September 1, 2021 This man is one of the reasons we love the Motown sound.... 1
Popular Post Zoomsoulblue Posted September 4, 2021 Popular Post Posted September 4, 2021 So they needed donations for the $8,700 headstone ? it’s a pity that James wasn’t appreciated by the people who have made the big bucks - shame on them Berry Gordy has an estimated net worth of $400 million Smokey Robinson is an American R&B and pop singer-songwriter, record producer, and former record executive who has a net worth of $150 million As of 2021, Diana Ross' net worth is $250 million Stevie Wonder is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer who has a net worth of $110 million dollars 5 1
Blackpoolsoul Posted December 24, 2021 Posted December 24, 2021 This may have been posted before and is the reason why so many people were amazed at his pure talent IMHO
Tomangoes Posted December 24, 2021 Posted December 24, 2021 To be fair if you read the story.....where he was buried only allowed a simple name plate at that time. Last time I was in Detroit in 2017, there's plenty of cheap buildings that could be a proper museum for all the musical stars to be remembered. Its not just about Motown is it! My only concern with fancy headstones is vandalism. Standing in the shadows is a superb watch. Ed 1

Ed Weird timing as same year $68,750 for his guitar https://www.notreble.com/buzz/2017/06/20/james-jamerson-bass-sold-at-auction/
Rick Smith Posted January 12, 2022 Posted January 12, 2022 That brass guitar wouldn't last two minutes in this country. It would have been nicked and weighed in within days. Let's hope the same doesn't apply in Detroit but somehow I doubt it. Legend or not some scum bag won't give a shit. RIP JJ.
