Godzilla Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 What about the Soussan boots on other labels with "Licensed to Soul Galore Productions" printed on? Eula Cooper and Rita Dacosta spring to mind, along with the Johnny Ross that Pete had a bit of bother with. Has anybody ever compliled a listing of these? Godz

Pete S Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 What about the Ashford boots, the pale blue ones?
Benji Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 WRIGHT EARL ON THE ROADS TO RUIN does anyone know the history behind this one? is it correct that it's an previously unreleased instrumental "beefed up" by soussan? i quite like it and would like to have it on first/original format...
Pete S Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 Isn't it Soul Drums by Pretty Purdie from a Columbia LP...stopped half way through and had sound effects put in, then repeated!
Md Records Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 Strange label, putting out some bizarre (and that's being very diplomatic) Instrumental versions, to some very sought after rare soul records. I'd always thought of these as having poor sound quality, but a few years ago picked up a handful of unplayed "Jades - Come On & Live" and was pleasantly surprised by how good they sounded. Does anyone feel that this label will ever be collected/collectable, or is it now. DES PARKER

Wiganer1 Posted February 6, 2007 Author Posted February 6, 2007 Well I've got a couple, the recording of Bari Track is actually better than the original, it jumps off the vinyl ===== ive got them all,,ill try and get the numbers but they do jump a bit and its hard to see if there are any missing ones
Md Records Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 What did surprise me is that Kenny Smith recieved payment off Simon Soussan for licensing "Lord What's Happening" for those 70's GAR reissues. DES PARKER
Guest DIRTY Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 What about the Ashford boots, the pale blue ones? Think I got one of these.. Eddie Parker Know I love you baby I think..
Guest Michael Higgins Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 I seem to remember the Jimmy Macks were up to a fiver in the 80s, when a fiver was reasonable money.
