Paul Dunn Posted February 5, 2007 Author Posted February 5, 2007 Seeing origianl sleeves is equivalent to finding your first porno magazine in the woods........ Eduardo Paolozzi would be in his element with the colours and shapes on show in this topic. 'An original sleeve' It's what your right hand is for, and you won't go blind!!! Regards Paul
Eddie Hubbard Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 I did keep hundreds of old Soul Bowl lists until well into the '80s (and if I HAD an attic I'd probably still have them! - however I live in a flat and something had to go!) Would love to read through them now, but I'd just get depressed seeing what I missed out on for £2-£3! I know issues of Carl Hall on Columbia were £2.50, also Willie Tee on Gator etc. Still, I'd MUCH rather pay hundreds of pounds for them, wouldn't you? I bought a Willie Tee " Having so much fun " from those lists for £3.I'd just had a list off Ian Dewhirst where he stated it was probably his fave record of all time , so thought it was worth buying blind !! Best ,Eddie
Guest melandthensome Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 slightly cheated on the glories etc

Guest SteveSnow Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 great thread! Here's another half a dozen - apologies if any of these are already up... the Ray Charles is a bit different on Canadian I think, I haven't played the Madeline Bell in ages, but it's great looking sleeve & demo - and thanks to Chris Anderton for the Little Rose Little which arrived last week with the cover a bonus! Md Records Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 been collecting sleeves & picture sleeves, whilst buying this & that, for quite a few Years, probably the oddest one I have is a "Gold Soul" sleeve which had a "George Lemmons" in it, sold the disc off, but kept the sleeve. Will take it out & about with me this weekend, so if anyone can scan it up for me, you can have a butchers (I'm a complete technophobe, and can just about manage typing this out & posting it up on my Daughter's computer thingy), unless anyone's got one, and can save me a job.
