So when was this class northern outing first spun and by whom? Is Richard not sticking to his personally defined playlist, which is fine, or was this an early find, on the the scene?

Expand I certainly remember it getting played at Wigan .It was also on that bootleg LP with the black and white city skyline as the album cover. 1 side was 70,s and the other rare northern . Still got it somewhere 1

I'm sure Pep & Neil Ruston would confirm this but I'm not sure who played it first, probably Neil. My copy came from Neil Ruston at Stafford Top Of The World in 1984. 2 1

Rick Scott Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 I played this at Cleethorpes Pier along side things like Mat Lucas (around '75) but was i the first, i suspect not i just had them early doors if you get my drift, always a difficult question to answer because when purchasing rare stuff like this off John at soul Bowl ( Groove City/Lynns Discory) Tim or Pat Etc here's the thing, if like me you were running your own Local event you were probably playing tracks a while before you played them at a Major Niter or Dayer etc and if John had only a couple or more copies of a Potential future Rare Monster out of those hand full of lucky DJs who purchased them Actually played it first is a very good Question........ 2
purist Posted June 3, 2021 Posted June 3, 2021 Blue Max @ Catacombs, it would have been between 1971 and 1973. There's a lovely photo of Max and Steve Calloway with the record. They became instant friends after Steve came over, Max showed him the English way of life, taking him to cricket, fishing and for a curry etc. H. Chalky tells a great tale about when he first took SC into Max's record shop and introduced them to each other, along the lines of " this is the man who first played your record Steve" followed by "and this is the man that sings it Max". I hasten to add that despite Max persevering with it he eventually moved it on and the copy he had in the later years of his life was a different copy. HTH 3

Not aware of a wigan boot, so did it get more plays later, at Stafford then?

Expand The only boot I'm aware of is the LP of let's say dubious origins. Was definitely a big tune in the main room at the Casino, 79 ish? really can't remember the year. 1

I bought the All Nite Long boot when it was first knocking about for a tenner I seem to remember, still got it somewhere. I wonder what the collective amount of cash the tunes on the album would fetch in their original form today. A truly mind boggling sum I'm sure. Sure someone on here would have a good idea. Rob 1

Expand Martin Can't really remember where I got it to be honest but surprised I got it home at all if I came home from Wigan with it in your car mate. In fact surprised I got there to buy it.
