Guest Bogue Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Recieved a batch of 45's today & in amongst them was an Atlantic demo of Benny Latimore. The plug side & the side it appears to be listed by on various sites is 'I'm Just An Ordinary Man' a ballad, but on flipping it over there is a cracking little R&B tune 'I Pity The Fool' Maybe this is the recognised side, i don't know, if not it's well worth a listen ! Unfortunatley the house is all over the place at the moment & i haven't got the deck rigged up to the p.c because of space, else i would have put a clip up.

Guest Bogue Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Also released on DADE 2002 Just noticed that on JM's site. It's listed on there as deep soul. So has 'I Pity The Fool' been popular at all dukester ?
Guest Bogue Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 (edited) I Pity The Fool - benny latimore - atlantic (demo) 14197 refosoul After listening to it a few more times it's probably a bit to far right of R&B to be of any use on the dance floor. Still a nice gritty bluesy number so as i've got the deck temp connected i'll post it up. I Will post up another more in keeping with the R&B dancers too. Guest Andy BB Posted February 1, 2007 Posted February 1, 2007 I pity the fool has been played at Mod clubs down here a bit. Shake and Mousetrap definitely A nice nodder innit - one to play while people are still getting lubricated.

Geoff Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 I Pity The Fool - benny latimore - atlantic (demo) I prefer Bobby Bland's version. I would think either version could be played, probably at the start of an evening when filling the dance floor isn't essential.
