Pete S Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Can someone tell me exactly what's in the run off on the Rona's Theme bootleg please? Thanks!
Guest Awake 502 Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Can someone tell me exactly what's in the run off on the Rona's Theme bootleg please? Thanks! I've got an original, can scan it later if you like....
Pete S Posted January 31, 2007 Author Posted January 31, 2007 Basically, the bootleg book says the boot is vinyl white demo - well I knew this - but I bought an original vinyl white demo...just checked with John and it is actually an original vinyl white demo. Which is nice

Trouble is, records like this are from a bygone generation and they'll never come back...except for those of us with fond memories of Wigan! The matrix on this is: X (kind of) then R0702 gap 71L2976

Pete S Posted January 31, 2007 Author Posted January 31, 2007 Just sold an issue on eBay, went for £50ish. I bid £46 on that
Guest Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 I bid £46 on that Better make the most of eBay for the next month...when the new fee structure comes in it's going to be a whole new ball game. Won't be many bargains left to be had at all.

Guest Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 What are they doing now??? In a nutshell they are totally destroying the vinyl category! Listing fee will now be a fixed 10p (or 5p if start price less than £1). Final Value Fee will also be changed to a flat 9%....yes 9%! The whole category is going to be pointless within 2 months.

Citizen P Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Just checked mine is a dud, but it only cost me about 3 bob so no harm done. Just stick it back in the crap box. Tony
Guest mel brat Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Hi Pete, Yes mine is the same matrix number. I seem to remember that the boot didn't have the MGM address at the bottom or the MGM logo either... Darran Yes that's exactly correct. No MGM logo on bootleg copies. (Have had scan of this up for a several days in "Photos" section re. 'Mecca Playlist')
Guest mel brat Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 (edited) ========= the only dj ive ever this spun by was Brian Rae.... No, no, no... I'm sorry, but this was a HUGE Mecca record for Levine in mid-1975, same time as Voices of East Harlem, Bobby Hutton, Bits N' Pieces etc., and my own copy was bought from Sam who told me it was the "same copy that he'd played at Cleethorpes.." Guest mel brat Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Mine came with one of these. Godz Think she was as revered as Oprah Winfrey in her day...

Pep used to play it at Cleethorpes, but how many times have you heard it played out since the mid 70's ?
Guest mel brat Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 I bid £46 on that I bid for it too!, but had already overspent and already have a demo copy. (Yet another BLACKPOOL MECCA classic of course! )
Guest mel brat Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 (edited) Pep used to play it at Cleethorpes, but how many times have you heard it played out since the mid 70's ? Heard it in C.mid-90's at Keele allnighter, but it's on all my Mecca tapes anyway! Was desperate for one til I finally got it. Happy to hear it played out anytime, anywhere! (There was another thread on here recently about the seeming general anathema for instrumentals on the scene these days, which I am also puzzled by...) Edited January 31, 2007 by mel brat
