Marva Allen's Here Comes The Night Owl - a slightly altered version of Tony Allen' & The Champs' 50's LA Doo-Wop classic' Nite Owl' (as was the Bobby Paris classic we all know and love) was produced by Jay Miller in Crowley,Louisiana in 1963,probably during the sessions which resulted in Marva's one 45' on Excello in 63', another lovely piece of Southern Doo-Wop, 'He's Gone' (not the Chantels song) backed with the fine R&B dancer 'I'm Through With You'

Night Owl has only had a legit release  I believe on the  Ace CD 'Louisiana Roots-The Jay Miller R&B Legacy' .The above must be-and looks like- a bootleg

I agree.  That's clearly wayyyyy too modern a pressing to have been made in 1963.  It has to be a later pressing of a recording never released on vinyl anywhere in time near its recording date.  My guess is that it was probably pressed up for The Low Rider scene in Southern California, in the 1990s or early 2000s.  That doesn't necessarily mean it was a bootleg.  It could have been pressed up by the original owner of the master to meet new demand.

not sure who said this but this is an original.
There is no other releases of this and not
sure why someone would say that’s not authentic.
We got this in California several years back
so that’s pretty much impossible that’s not
authentic.
We are aware that some people were talking
about the Anderson Brothers 45 that’s not
authentic (which it is) as it has all correct matrix
etchings. But that doesn’t mean that you have
to be influenced by that.
There are a bunch of haters and jealous people
around which is a sad world but we can’t change
that.
We been in business for almost 20 years now
and our positive feedback speaks for itself.

How strange that we have a comment "There are a bunch of haters and jealous people
around which is a sad world but we can’t change that."

Pathetic is not a word I often use (except with my kids homework sometimes)

If things were not questioned then where would we be ?

A world full of bootleggers that's where

Let's all do some work on this please and get some info so everyone knows. without speculation

Below is the legit CD

By the look of it, it's definitely not from the 60s and from last 20 years or so. However not on Discogs that I can find and nothing seems to come up apart from this listing when you Google. So seems undocumented /obscure. Carver?

Here's the back of the Cd previously mentioned (the song is at 22) - the song was not released. I'm not sure what the seller is trying to do -

Why ? Because it's not 'authentic'. Bootlegs exist in California as well ! It is possible off course. Go to hell with your Anderson Brothers bootleg. You never showed a picture of the record naked (styrene proof) nor provide the recording of the MONO side. Glad that you have good feedbacks but that doesn't give you the authority to disregard people's advice with much more experience than you. And who unlike you have no interest in ripping off people. We jealous of you ? No way. Hate people who pollute the record business, yes we do. Rightfully so.

Nah, that's something else.

One thing i don't get - how does he have over a 1000 and only positive feedbacks?!

I've dealt with him few times before.. nothing rare though. All was ok.

I won that Marva Allen actually. I won something else prior to that, which was a nice deal btw, so i've placed a bid knowing that i will pull off if it's not authentic.
