The Versatiles - Lonely Man/Cry Like. Baby (Staff) Mint- £65

Double sided group harmony brilliance. ‘Cry’ has been a converted mid tempo tune certainly since the early ‘80s, but it’s the flip that raises the bar to a whole new level. ‘Lonely Man’ is just superb in every sense, a big lowrider tune just waiting for exposure to a wider audience. I guarantee one listen and you’ll be hooked.

Lee Williams and The Cymbals - I’ll Be Gone/I Love You More (Carnival) Vg/Vg+ £60

While we’re talking double siders, this must be one of the best! Personally I prefer ‘Gone’ but both sides are simply sublime. Another very hard to find in decent nick! This is vinyl copy as opposed to the styrene release.

The Supremes - You’re Heart Belongs To Me (Motown) Mint- £45

Killer lowrider monster and what a record this is, their best by country mile IMHO. Very tough to find in this sort of condition.

Chuck McLean - Let Me Hear It From You/ My Lover’s Vow (Backbeat) Mint- (N.B. Label on both sides indicates ‘Lover’s Vow’ but plays ‘Let Me Hear’) £30

Very very hard number from the Backbeat catalogue and what an awesome double sider it is! ‘Let Me Hear It’ is a killer piece of lowrider soul, whilst ‘Lover’s Vow’ is a funky Texas dancer.
