Completely under the radar due to rarity and most likely never to emerge in numbers since the southern States including New Orleans went under water with Hurricane Katrina)

(Glorious Californian mid-tempo soul and positioned right in amongst the front runners of that rich vocal style often overshadowed by the broad range of styles associated with the Northern genre. Awesome double sider, rare stock copy and in immaculate condition some 50 years on)

(Look, rub your eyes, look again….. can’t see any Promotion Copy text on the label??? That’s because its an incredibly rare STOCK copy! Feel free to scour the internet, but every copy bar one I saw were Promotional copies. If it were like Tobi Legends yellow paper promo label it would be more obvious, but its not! Highly revered beat ballad from Roland "Don" Trone and Claude "Juan" Johnson, a fabulous duo that helped formed my interest in Northern over 35 years ago)

Norris Vines & Luvlines - Give in - Smile 112 Ex+ £900

(Superb copy of this Canadian mid 70’s soul winner, glides along on a wave of rich vocal harmonies. I can never work out whether its the lead belting out high and low or the Luvlines taking turns, stunning good feeling soul. Date stamp on label)

(Fabulous big city beat ballad, top of its class on the Purple stock label and in great shape)
