It does look interesting but I hope it builds on / is different from the 100 page booklet he already wrote for the 1999 Malaco CD box set...I note the front cover of book (assuming that is what it is) is same as front cover of booklet.......

wow, it's a very deep label, I mean I have 45's on Malco and a few LP's, but I always feel there is more in there I've not heard, hope the book unlocks it for me

Review Ashley Kahn has written numerous music books, mostly jazz.

Unfortunately there is no UK source for the book from what I can see and it is expensive for less than 200 pages.

The kindle version looks more appealing at £11

As the article mentions, the author Rob Bowman was responsible for 2003’s' Soulsville, U.S.A. The Story of Stax Records' and what a great read that is! The detail is staggering. No reason the Malaco book won't have the same detail, but at 200 pages (the Stax book is 400) I'd also be concerned re value for money.

I agree with Mal Cs comments, like Mal I have a few Malaco albums & 45s, also a double 'various artists' CD, all good, yep, there must be more to be discovered.
