Hi all, just wanted to share a "magic moment" with you.

Went to see the Funks in the Bridgewater Hall last night...it was ok.....went to the after show doo....it was ok....got the obligatory 45s signed by Jack and Joe...every thing in the world is happy.

Goes back to our hotel and we all agreed (six of us,Jon and Mandy,Dave and Sue,Russ ad Sue)lets just have one drink in the hotel bar and retire to our rooms for the night.

After 5 minutes or so in walks Rob McDonald (Rob McBass) bass player from the Funks band.We shake hands and swap the niceties about the show earlier and he pulls up a chair to join us.

At 12.30 we are told the bar is closing for the night but we can re locate to the hotel foyer,so off we go.

Rob is now telling us about some of the people he has worked with over the years and some of the tours he has been on.Totally absorbed by it all,we are trying to explain our love for this music and the scene that we live for.

Some of the stories Rob imparted to us were to say the least incredible....by now its 2.00 in the morning and we are still going strong.I have to say that we in no way were keeping this amazing guy up....he actually told us how interested he was in our stories.

I showed him a track listing from a cd......"yeh,know him ....know that guy too...see this track,i am the bass player on that one" We are like..wow.....and so it went on till 3.45 this morning, when we finally retired with huge hugs,,hand shakes and swapping of email addys and the promise to keep in touch.

ROB McBASS if you read this my friend i just want to say thank you for your company. You have made six soul fans very happy with tales we shall never forget....top man
