45cellar Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 (edited) There were exceptions, but I've often wondered why U.K. Labels in the 60's were not as colourful and Imaginative as the American Labels. Edited January 26, 2007 by 45cellar
Crumb Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 There were exceptions, but Iv'e often wondered why U.K. Labels in the 60's were not as colourful and Imaginative as the American Labels. I prefer imports theese days but I think the red and white Island takes some beating.

Ady Potts Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 There's some nice colourful labels that come out on the West Coast...
Guest Bogue Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 also.....any red and white demo's, especially Okeh and UK Tamla Motown, Stateside etc.... Must admit Really like the green UK Tamla Motown demo's too. In fact i quite like a lot of the British lables, another that springs to mind is the red & white Beacon lable , always thought that was a good design. P.s. We did a similar thread a few months back, perhaps someone could link them as there was some good scans there too.
Guest Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 One of My Faves UK! Sean Hello Dear Boy .... I always had a soft spot for UK Mowest ..... a tranquil design . Malc
Crumb Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 There were exceptions, but I've often wondered why U.K. Labels in the 60's were not as colourful and Imaginative as the American Labels. Direct, nice and colourful. Uni, a bit too colourful
Thorsten Wegner Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 really cool looking label me thinks, found this in Kansas City last year, but no idea where this label is actually from, great record too.

Guest mel brat Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 (edited) These have to be among the nicest label designs I've seen... Edited January 26, 2007 by mel brat
Crumb Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Seem to remember the In Crowd - Happiness In My Heart on Viva being a nice label, pity the songs crap though.
Ady Potts Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 So much nicer than plain white...... Also this multi colour vinyl press plays so much louder & clearer than the West Coast styrene red issues & white demos.
Djr Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 (edited) here's a fun one.... Edited January 26, 2007 by djr
