Jackson 5 – ABC – 1163 WD Gold Vinyl Ex+ £400

It’s a nice tune to have on a regular stock copy, even better on a white demo, and even then - west is best (IHMO), but on gold vinyl its almost legendary amongst Hitsville aficionados and the wider soul fraternity. It may not be an early Motown release, they do attract most attention, but it did come at a time when the world was entranced by the newly emerging Jackson 5 and MJ hysteria was just beginning to hit the streets!

Issued to recognise the pace at which Alpha Bravo Charlie (sorry can't ignore proper military radio procedure!) passed the one million sales mark, faster than any previous Motown output and therefore appropriately honoured with a gold vinyl press, and sent to radio stations with a special title sleeve, therefore it’s a limited promotional not commercial release.

Vinyl is EX+ on both sides, (same flip), labels are M-, and the sleeve is still respectable albeit with a left seam split and 2 minor tears at the top. Only last month a similar conditioned copy went for just short of £800. Probably a gap for anyone looking to fill their Motown collection.
