Funky Chappie Posted November 8, 2020 Posted November 8, 2020 Got given 3 suitcases full of 45s , some good things in there , but just wanted to ask about a Capital Soul release , its is gate fold and inside were 3 x british demos , Barrett Strong - man up in the sky , Sun - live on dream on , Tavares - the love I never had , all are mint and also there are 3 photos , 1 of each artist. , can anybody shed any light on this , was it a give away at the time ? , cheers Simon. The address on the back is Capitol Records 20 Manchester Square London
Michael V Posted November 8, 2020 Posted November 8, 2020 This sounds like one of those 'Press Pack' promotional items of the 70's(and late 60's) sent out to music papers and radio stations as part of a promotional drive for a newly launched label series or a subsidiary label. 20 Manchester Square was EMI House, the famous HQ for EMI Records
