Pete Morgan Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Has anybody got one of these? If so is this a better option than the Numark usb deck. ? If you get two of them i am a bit confused how you would be able to use a mixer and plug it into a usb port ? It seems a better option with a pitch control and being direct drive any help greatly appreciated TIA Pete Morgan here is the deck in question https://www.djstore.co.uk/cgi-bin/item.pl?&...item=kamddx4000
Guest Kevin J Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 IMO, its not worth the price. you can just as easily get a usb adaptor that connects to a line-out from the mixer you already have. the one that i have cost me all of $12.
Chalky Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 if you can connect your decks/amp directly to your PC do so, not only will it save you money but the quality will be better. There's a review of USB, direct connection in the latest What HiFi. Think USB turntable comes bottom out of four options.

Guest Kevin J Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 this is what i use: https://www.griffintechnology.com/products/imic/ you just need a stereo Y cable with a stereo out. plugs right in ... easy peasy.

Maria O Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 thanks for all the info guys, guess i won,t bother with the decks Hey darling. I got the Numark one as part of my xmas present. It seemed to make sence as 'our' turntable is crap -mainly coz it jumps around for 70s tracks (and you know mine back home dates back to my high school days, so we're both as bad ). We don't really use it much, but I wanted to make some cd's for the car as I have a 60 mile trip to work & back (it's so boring!) plus wanted another turntable near my vinyl anyway. I followed the advice given in this members only 'PC, AUDIO & TECH AREA' forum I also read some online reviews and ratings and the Numark one could be plugged into ordinary speakers and some of the portable players (non usb) rated much lower with sound quality. Thing is, if you don't need another turntable - it's probably not worth bothering with. I recall you had a decent one a few years ago m ps. I promise to take some time and take it out of the box soon
