The other a black label with smaller silver writing and the label logo in blue. I think this was when Warren changed the label design to the blue logo. I still think it's a fabulous record and classic Northern Soul, since I first heard it in Wigan Casino!

Post 2000 it really moved up several gears. Now collectors from every corner of the world are chasing them. It's only going to continue, Russia, China, South America, when the affluent classes of these regions start to take an interest and it develops, watch what happens then. I even know of wealth management and unit trust firms who are now recognising vinyl as a potential 'asset class', similar to art and rare wine stocks. There's still time to invest at an affordable level if you have the 'knowledge', but platforms such a Discogs and Popsike will make it harder in the future for quick arbitrage gains. An area to speculate is in 'new limited run releases', but be careful as this can be a minefield and should be regarded as a more of a longer term view. Of course, this is only my view, but if you plot the trend curves across genres, it does seem to be playing out. PS - Alberto, thanks for capturing this every week, we'd lose it otherwise. I hope the dedicated collectors out there do everything they can to keep the rarities out of the hands of speculators. I get that some collectors buy in part as an investment. It’s also obvious that some dealers are paying top-dollar at auction so they can whack on a few hundred pounds of profit at set sale. Let’s hope us collectors can unite to thwart the wealth funds and asset-strippers. 1

I also reckon that those funds, etc. won’t hang around here, so selling and buying through soul-source should be fine as well in order to keep them from getting stuff.. 1

Then there's collectors who just love the music and the collecting the great records. It's a shame that the people who love the music and collect the records, have to end up paying for it all! The speculators and dealers don't care, and have an interest in putting up the prices. Getting as much as possible for a record. I am not complaining as thats the capitalist economy working through market forces. But grass roots collectors like me, end up paying for it all! Edited October 2, 2020 by Halogen 1
