Frankie Crocker Posted September 24, 2020 Posted September 24, 2020 Someone should start an Emidisc Amnesty. Put a skip on every High Street so all the embarrassing evidence can be disposed of. These things were a quick fix for desperate collectors in the 70’s but nowadays are trash fit only for the bin. 2
Timillustrator Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Zero bids though, maybe common sense has prevailed.
Richard Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 (edited) Don’t want to urinate on anyone’s chips but to me the handwriting for the title You Can’t Mean It looks very much like on this genuine unreleased acetate of Tony Colton I sold last year via John Manship The other writing of course doesn’t. Edited September 27, 2020 by Richard
Mark B Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 Another thing seller is in barrow isn’t that where chapter five came from ? 1

A quick examination shows distinct and obvious differences between the hands that wrote the titles on the discs , most notably in the formation of the letters "N" and "Y" . Any decent graphologist would have it thrown out of court ... 1

Looking at the sellers feedback at .. . . https://www.ebay.co.uk/fdbk/feedback_profile/davidm3091?filter=feedback_page:RECEIVED_AS_SELLER&_trksid=p2047675.l2560 . . . and then scrolling down to the end, you will find this . . . " EXCELLENT TRANSACTION - SUPERB ITEM - WELL DONE CHAPTER FIVE - KEEP THE FAITH d***d (3257) More than a year ago " Probably not a coincidence.
Woodbutcher Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 He's on FB so you could ask him direct , nothing showing on his profile regarding the disc , you'd think he'd be shouting it from the rooftops were he actually the seller ... ?

Woodbutcher Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 The handwriting shows more similarities to that on this disc of their first ever recording ... Image from the Chapter Five FB page ... 2

I had an EMIdisc of the Sweet Talkin Guy instrumental from Wigan with ABSOLUTELY IDENTICAL writing to this that was 100% dodgy so you can't extrapolate ANYTHING from that comment. Dx

Dx I was pointing out it “could” be genuine as were used for genuine test presses
