45cellar Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 (edited) nice spot Roger! just as an aside, Parkway actually done coloured demos as well as the white ones didn't they? Know I have a coloured one somewhere steve Hi Steve Thanks Mate, Years of searching, & Obviously in the wrong place. All that I have ever found is this Tantalising scan. Looking At Tomorrow - Chubby Checker - Parkway - Stock Copy Regarding the Coloured DEMO, I have a coloured DEMO of "Girl Don't Make Me Wait". I have it on both Designs & one is a DEMO.. -I think I have seen a Stock Copy on this Design -Not seen a White DEMO on this Design as far as I can remember. Edited June 14, 2008 by 45cellar
Anoraks Corner Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 Supposedly rarer with the "A Mike Terry Arr" on but to be honest most I seen have! still nice not to be water damaged! Without the credit copy below. Agree that this is quite possibly the rarer, contrary to some guide valuations.
Dave Moore Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 Looking At Tomorrow - Chubby Checker - Parkway - Stock Copy WOW! First time I've ever seen that Roger! Excellent! Great uptempo song too. Great how we keep picking up on records that are truly hard to find, but don't seem to cost the earth when they do appear. Great stuff. Tyhanks for posting. .
Dave Moore Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 Some beltin scans here chaps - 2 issues I've never clapped eyes on but are rumoured to exist...... 7th Ave Aviators on red Congress Yum Yums on black ABC-Paramount And while I'm thinking - were there ever any West Coast Parkway issues? I seriously doubt it but you never know. Anyone? YUM YUMS definitely on Stocker. It appears as part of the Jerry Ross story in the next Issue of There's That Beat! www.theresthatbeat.com

Best John Cant say that I have seen one other than the white copies. I thought that this was the place for this one from PopSike too. The FIRST Stock copy that I have EVER seen of "Looking At Tomorrow". Never say Never they always say. Look at what I have just found on PopSike.Com Never EVER seen one before. 45cellar Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 (edited) Well that's a turn up for the books - never seen an issue of this either ! Scan of the "other" harder demo attached, to complete the set. Best John Hi John Thanks for Posting this. It is the harder DEMO, I nearly Won one on ebay a couple of years ago, Outbid at the Last Minute. As already mentioned before, something appears to have happened at the Promotion Stage with a couple of the Chubby Checker releases. "Looking At Tomorrow" & "You Just Don't Know" Anyone know why these two failed, when other releases are so easy to find by him. Edited June 14, 2008 by 45cellar

Anoraks Corner Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 Larry Clinton issue? Who has one now, Dave M,? How many of them are there? Fortnum has/had the vg copy from Eddie Holman.
Dave Moore Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 Last I heard Kev Murphy had the stocker. I had both the stocker and the demo in my hands in the mid 90s within weeks of each other. Could have bought both for the same price, opted for the W/Demo as thought that red label would look crap in my 'D" box! He He! Regrets? Never!
Simon T Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 Fortnum has/had the vg copy from Eddie Holman. The copy I'm sure Carl has is a WD signed by Eddie Holman. I heard EH sing it at Stafford in the 80's and did wonder if he was in fact LC, but I've been told it's (the late?) LC. Anyone know anything more about LC?
billb Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 Not rarest of the rare and all that stuf, but back to the thread, issues rarer than demo's, or is it rarer issues & demo's that you don't see every week, or do you, or don't you, my head is mashed, Lowton, Burnley, Bury, I need a kip!
Dave Moore Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 The copy I'm sure Carl has is a WD signed by Eddie Holman. I heard EH sing it at Stafford in the 80's and did wonder if he was in fact LC, but I've been told it's (the late?) LC. Anyone know anything more about LC? Mr Clinton was a lounge singer in Philly. Luther Randolph took him in the studio against his better judgement as he "liked a drink" and had very little ambition but was happy singing in the supper clubs. When I interviewed the Harthon trio last year none of them knew his current wheareabouts. The rarity of the stocker is due to the fact that Dynamo Records was set up by Jimmy Bishop as an appeasement to the Harthon guys. He'd stitched them up with Arctic. But he never really got behind it and in their opinion was actually instrumental in it's failure. No distribution, no PR etc. The record itself is in my top 10 of all time. Outstanding intro! Get's the juices flowing right from the opening crash bang whallop!
