Prophonics 2029 Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 You tend to see more demo's of this than issues no so super rare.
Prophonics 2029 Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 a few classics What dose a lost in a world issue look like, I am thinking it could be like a Troy Dodds or Silky Hargraves??.
Pete S Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 What dose a lost in a world issue look like, I am thinking it could be like a Troy Dodds or Silky Hargraves??. Those white ones are the issues...
Pete S Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 (edited) a couple of detroit demos Russ have a look at your camera, there'll be a button on the back which you press to enable you to do in-focus close ups from very short distances, it's called Macro, without it they will come out blurred like yours are Edited April 2, 2008 by Pete S
Prophonics 2029 Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 I find if you zoom in an stand back a bit helps.
Prophonics 2029 Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Those white ones are the issues... I am tempted to get my crayons out.

Ady Potts Posted April 7, 2008 Author Posted April 7, 2008 (edited) Just got this of my mate Neil I only just traded this with him a short while back it's the same copy that the picture is of on page one of this thread. nice as an issue. Thanks for that, I would love to know where that copy is now. They always say never say never, but after all of these years I was assuming that it didn't exist. Thanks again, ANYONE! got a scan of this one.

EDIT : We were both thinking the same thing Roger ! lol yeh positive...........forgot who bought it....cost me £30 in the 80's which was a lot but I kinda thought it was rare then.

Amazing that other copies haven't turned up. Ric-Tic had a spell where DEMO's are either NON existent or Virtually one off. Edited April 7, 2008 by 45cellar
pikeys dog Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 Never seen a demo like this before.... $15 well spent?
45cellar Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 (edited) Never seen a demo like this before.... $15 well spent? Definitely $15 well spent, That low ZTSC Number (Only 5 Digits) ZTSC 84912 (The Date of Issue 1962) >>> LINK <<<. 4804 Correct for release. Initially I wasn't sure why #2029 as well. But of course they all had more than one number on the Label. I couldn't recall seeing a ZTSC Press for this label before. Never mind a Nice White DEMO. I know that it is a Chicago Label & ZTSC is the Chicago Matrix Stamp, However, should have realised the date. Here's the Stock Copy on ebay, early design, early number Including that ZTSC Beautiful DEMO, take a lot of searching to find another, I would suggest. Nice find that one Mate. I certainly haven't seen one before. Edited April 19, 2008 by 45cellar

Guest Tom Walsh Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 The Christine Cooper thread got me thinking, why don't we do one on rarer issue's & demo's. So if it's one you dont see every day of the week, post it up. Here's one to kick off with.... J.B.Bingham on an issue I have Joy lovejoy in orbit Demo! has anyone else seen one!
Ian Dewhirst Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 The Other Side of Barbara Acklin depends on which Brunswick DEMO release you find. Also on the Rarer TOMAS The bottom one LOL...... And that Saxie Russell looks almost too clean to be real LOL...... Ian D
45cellar Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 (edited) The bottom one LOL...... And that Saxie Russell looks almost too clean to be real LOL...... Ian D I do try to keep all of my records in the condition that I bought them. I keep them in similar Poly Lined Sleeves. Yet some stay crisp & white. Where as others show signs of Foxing This one is a very similar press to the Saxie Russell, but glue or something has started to discolour the label on the DEMO. That Bill Harris ain't easy on a DEMO, I have only just found a copy. The same can be said about >>> Candi Staton - Young Hearts Run Free - Warner Bros DEMO <<< Edited April 19, 2008 by 45cellar
Guest mel brat Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 (edited) What about albums? Are black issue copies of Bobby Hutton's "Piece Of The Action" ABC album scarcer than the demos? I wanna know! Edited April 19, 2008 by mel brat

The same can be said about >>> Candi Staton - Young Hearts Run Free - Warner Bros DEMO <<< Some of those Warners releases from the early-mid 70's are really difficult. That Rhodes, Chalmers & Rhodes from another thread is the only copy I've ever seen. They couldn't really promote Black Music at the time, so many of the releases never really made it out there IMO..... And, no, I don't have the Candi Staton which I've also never seen on promo. Got all the Ashford & Simpsons, Lamont Dozier's etc. Actually whilst we're on this thread, has anyone ever seen a U.S. copy of Felice Taylor's "I Feel Love Coming On" which should be on Bronco shouldn't it? Guest CliftonHall1 Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 Cant make my mind up which one of these is the rarest, demo or stock.... lol Suppose no one cares!!
Guest CliftonHall1 Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 heres a few dubs.... the Benny Krausse is actually B.K.Marcus "Does she care about me" with a nice letter from Sam Goldner to Jerry Ross asking him to give BK a chance...which he did'nt...but Kenny Gamble did!
Stevemochan Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 Think Spenna had Eddie Holmans own copy dont know where it went Kev Murphy has an issue.

Unfortunately not a minter but since I've got the record on three different designs of Onederful, Canadian Barry, UK President, Toddlin' Town and Midas, i think I can wait for a decent copy to come along... Collecting - it's a disease.
Gene-r Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Here are a few nice rare demos from my personal collection. Whilst not particularly rare on issue, how often do you see these demos?
Prophonics 2029 Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 Drake & The Ensolids is there a demo of Please Leave.
Steve Edgar Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 (edited) Here are a few nice rare demos from my personal collection. Whilst not particularly rare on issue, how often do you see these demos? Volumes seems to be on three different demos! that black one looks good, here's another demo white with black print, think there's a red print one too. Also the Windy C demo, I picked up a good few years ago, a demo of "Dont Waste Your Time" used to think it looked iffy, but it's stamped so guess it right, steve Edited June 13, 2008 by Soul-Integrity
Guest chorleybloke Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 Some beltin scans here chaps - 2 issues I've never clapped eyes on but are rumoured to exist...... 7th Ave Aviators on red Congress Yum Yums on black ABC-Paramount And while I'm thinking - were there ever any West Coast Parkway issues? I seriously doubt it but you never know. Anyone?
Steve Edgar Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 Supposedly rarer with the "A Mike Terry Arr" on but to be honest most I seen have! still nice not to be water damaged! steve

45cellar Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 (edited) Is this harder on a demo? most demos i do see are white steve Cant say that I have seen one other than the white copies. I thought that this was the place for this one from PopSike too. The FIRST Stock copy that I have EVER seen of "Looking At Tomorrow". Hi John I asked this a while back, no reply at the time. Nice West Coast DEMO, I tried for both, One of my favourites too. Looking At Tomorrow - Chubby Checker - Parkway - I managed the East Coast DEMO, but I have seen neither on a Stock Copy. (Strange). You Just Don't Know is obviously Rarer, however "Looking At Tomororrow" appears to have also been confined to a DEMO only release. Never say Never they always say. Look at what I have just found on PopSike.Com Never EVER seen one before. Looking At Tomorrow - Chubby Checker - Parkway - Stock Copy The Stock Copy does exist apparently.
