Mark Bicknell Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Mark Did you keep this issue? I'm sure have / had it. Sadly no Simon, i don't think the scan here is my old copy though as you could hardly see the credits on mine, i bought the record in the mid 80's from Mark White who posts on here for about forty quid sold it for about three hundred back in about 1990 alongside 'The Empires' on Candi to the same person, i think it was about £800.00 for the pair a lot of coin then and i know before anyone say's anything a 'Gene Toones' stocker has to be worth 2 or 3 grand today, come to think of it the Empires aint far off that is it....lol Regards - Mark Bicknell.

Mark Bicknell Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Seen more demo's of this one, stocker seems to be harder to find but another record where there's not alot in it money wise? Regards - Mark Bicknell.

Guest Roccia Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Tony Galla blue & yellow issue, and Jack Montgomery WD...
soulsalmon Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Not true. Have you ever TRIED finding a copy of "Your Number 1". An original copy that is, not the 70s styrene reissue. I have in the past easily sold "Your Number 1" for £100 and that's cheap in my opinion. I know people who have sold it for £150+. It's very hard to find, and superb as well. There has only been one copy (demo) on eBay during the last year. The year before that, there was also only one copy (demo).Try finding a copy of royal five"aint no big thing",JimmyBishop "a blackman".DeeDee Barnes(sharpe),(do what you wanna do) ,or the lane relations ,brockinton choral ensemble,or mary de loach, thse where hard to find back in the day
Chalky Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Tony Galla blue & yellow issue, and Jack Montgomery WD... Is the Tony Galla that rare seen loads.
Guest Roccia Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Is the Tony Galla that rare seen loads. Not a dog rare, Chalky, but rarer than black stocker and WD... or at least that's what I heard about...
Dazz Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 I've asked about a bit but haven't found anybody who has seen one of these before Anybody else? Just bumping this as it may have got lost on the bottom of the last page. Anybody else got or seen one of these before. Thanks Dazz
Chalky Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Not a dog rare, Chalky, but rarer than black stocker and WD... or at least that's what I heard about... but you see both what you posted with frequent regularity. Seen more Yellow than the others of late.

Ted Massey Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Dont know if this is harder than the issue
45cellar Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 (edited) Dont know if this is harder than the issue Hi Ted I think that they're both hard to find, i've also seen the other design label, which may be even rarer. Edited January 24, 2007 by 45cellar
Guest melandthensome Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 anyone got a scan of a Bunky copy by any chance.
pikeys dog Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 (edited) Was this every demo'd? Was the Tangerine release ever issued? All the Tangerine copies I've seen were promos Edited January 24, 2007 by pikeys dog

Constellation - Bunky, Tarpon - Chess - same backing track. Why the Bunky is a one off? , which was issued first, etc Edited January 24, 2007 by 45cellar

Why the Bunky is a one off? , whch was issued first, etc The Tarpon label belonged to Billy 'The Kid' Emerson, who was also A&R man at Chess records around that period. He also co-wrote the lyrics to Love Reputation.
Guest melandthensome Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 good question Roger so what do you prefer Nolan or Denise?
45cellar Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 good question Roger so what do you prefer Nolan or Denise? Hi Mel I like them both, but I think that "Just Like The Weather" is perfect, Never tire of listening to it.
Guest Tommy Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Was this every demo'd? Was the Minit release ever issued? All the Minit copies I've seen were promos It never came out on Minit. Only Tangerine & Sentry (this label being it's rarest format). It was issued on Tangerine (orange & black label). Tommy.
Guest Roccia Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 but you see both what you posted with frequent regularity. Seen more Yellow than the others of late. Chalky, you're definitely more expert than I am, but i was just quoting what J. Manship said in his bootleg guide: "... 3. Yellow with BLUE lettering, this design is scarce but authentic. ..."
45cellar Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 The Tarpon label belonged to Billy 'The Kid' Emerson, who was also A&R man at Chess records around that period. He also co-wrote the lyrics to Love Reputation. Hi Thanks, I didn't know that. I wonder, does that mean with him co-writing it that "A Love Reputation" was issued first. Thanks Again
pikeys dog Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 It never came out on Minit. Only Tangerine & Sentry (this label being it's rarest format). It was issued on Tangerine (orange & black label). Tommy. Of course I meant Tangerine, but had some kind of minor stroke and typed Minit. Used to have a Tangerine demo, never had an issue though.
pikeys dog Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Sure this one is a touch harder on demo....
pikeys dog Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 This one seems a bit harder on demo as well.
45cellar Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 (edited) This one seems a bit harder on demo as well. Hi I thought that I would repeat this post, I don't own the Blue Amy Stock Copy. Got to be one of the Rarest Stock Copies There are two DEMO's, one of which does look like a Stock Copy from the "TOO DARN SOULFUL" side. However, it has "PLUG SIDE" on the "YOU DON'T LOVE ME ANYMORE" Side. 981 Is a styrene Monarch & Delta # 65704 on one side & 65704-X the other. The strange thing is (considering that the other DEMO has the Labels Reversed) is that the PLUG SIDE has 65704-X. The -X following a Delta Number, normally denotes the B Side? AMY 981 is Styrene with a "B" Matrix STAMPED in the Deadwax Has the Labels Reversed The Blue Label AMY Stock copy is the rarest and hardest to obtain. A Friend of mine had this years ago, the only time I've seen one, other than a scan. I've got both DEMO's in the collection, the Blue AMY Stock Copy is virtually impossible, hope you find one. The Blue AMY scan below is from Popsike.com https://www.popsike.com/php/quicksearch.php...x=0&y=0 IT'S ALWAYS WORTH A LOOK ON POPSIKE.COM WHEN VALUING RECORDS Edited January 24, 2007 by 45cellar
Guest noss Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Another ABC one that seems to be hard on issue....
Ted Massey Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Anyone know the story of these releases. Constellation - Bunky, Tarpon - Chess - same backing track. Why the Bunky is a one off? , which was issued first, etc Hi Roger From what i can remember the Bunky one is a 70's reissue cause it has a delta number starting 10 Ted
Ady Potts Posted January 24, 2007 Author Posted January 24, 2007 Tend to see the yellow & red issues, here's a white demo...
Guest Tommy Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Can someone post a scan of The Devotions - Nation - Issue please. I know they exist, but have not seen one. Also, has anyone seen/ got a Demo of Silk - Nation? That's another i'd like to see a scan of. Cheers, Tommy.
Guest Awake 502 Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 Was this every demo'd? Was the Tangerine release ever issued? All the Tangerine copies I've seen were promos This is my issue, shame about the label damage.....
soul45s Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 This one seems a bit harder on demo as well. I sold a Jackie Shane vinyl demo for £40 recently Both sides are worthy of more spins imo cheers paul
45cellar Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 (edited) Tend to see the yellow & red issues, here's a white demo... Hi Here is the Stock Copy which has 1966 on the Label The White DEMO is Rarer and has 1967 on the Label. I have never seen a 1966 DEMO or a 1967 Stock Copy. I am told that they are both slightly different mixes. Edited January 25, 2007 by 45cellar
45cellar Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 Hi Roger From what i can remember the Bunky one is a 70's reissue cause it has a delta number starting 10 Ted Hi Ted Thanks for that. Is the Bunky Copy a One Off, OR have more copies ever turned up.
Ady Potts Posted January 25, 2007 Author Posted January 25, 2007 Two old classics, slightly rarer on demo's...
Guest mel brat Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 Well now I really am lost for words - first time I've ever seen this or even heard of it, I stand corrected Yes. I saw this too (on ebay) after being assured by all and sundry for 30 years that it "didn't exist!" We live and learn!
Guest melandthensome Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 (edited) anyone got a Robbie Lawson 'burning sensation' Kyser issue/demo please..... Edited January 25, 2007 by melandthensome
