Joesoap Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 Okay, this is only intended as a lighthearted post but I heard this on a US radio station recently. Brought a smile to my face so I thought I'd share. Definitely a dancer, got a bit of 'Tighten Up' about it.. Good times music. You've got to love this? 2
Bo Diddley Posted September 5, 2020 Posted September 5, 2020 You could also add this one! It might be tough going listening to a full set!!!!!!!!!!!! 1

As a tune I actually quite like it, always a sucker for an instrumental, I've had my ears opened to all kinds of stuff watching the Treme box set on Sky which if you can get it is well worth a watch, last episode I watched up popped Irma Thomas and Fats Domino, I've enjoyed spotting the well known(well to us anyway) artists in amongst the local musicians they feature. If you are unaware of it Treme is based around hurricane Catrina in New Orleans and what happened after. 2

As a matter of fact the radio station I mentioned above is WWOZ New Orleans which you can stream online. Been listening on a daily basis since lockdown. You might enjoy that if you liked Treme. Lots of obscure soul amongst an eclectic selection of great mainly black New Orleans music. 1
Guest Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 (edited) Clifton Chenier - Zydeco royalty. I managed to play this once on local radio. There were no complaints but on the other hand there may have been no audience! Edited September 18, 2020 by DukeBurgundy Grammar error.
